Clendenin Community Chorus 87th annual performance of “Handel’s Messiah” – Sunday, November 30, Clendenin United Methodist Church – 3p.m. – FREE


SINGERS:
We will sing Part One plus the “Hallelujah Chorus” again this year. For those who want to review parts, there will be a rehearsal on Sunday, November 23 from 2 – 4 p.m. A final rehearsal will be held on Saturday, November 29 from 7 – 9 p.m., both at the Clendenin United Methodist. For those want to sing but are unable to attend either rehearsal, be sure to e-mail: [email protected] to assure that your name will be in the program.

“I just wanted to confirm that the Clendenin “Messiah” will be on Sunday, December 1 (the first Sunday of Advent) at 3 p.m. I will rehearse on Sunday, November 24 at 2 p.m. for those who want to review parts, with a final rehearsal as always on Saturday, November 30 at 7 p.m. — Please begin inviting singers to join us.”

The performance will be sung in memory of long-time chorus member and past president Travis Naylor

A rehearsal for those who want to review the music will be held on Sunday, November 19 at 2 pm, at the Clendenin United Methodist Church.

A final rehearsal will be held on Saturday, November 25 at 7 pm.

The Clendenin Community Chorus will continue its annual tradition of performing Handel’s “Messiah” on Sunday, November 27, at 3 pm at the Clendenin United Methodist Church (121 Koontz Avenue). Those who have sung in the past and new singers are welcome. We will be singing Part One plus the “Hallelujah Chorus” on this first Sunday of Advent this year.

A rehearsal for those who want to review the music will be held on Sunday, November 20 at 2 p.m. and a final rehearsal will occur on Saturday, November 26 at 7 p.m., both at the Clendenin United Methodist Church. Those familiar with the score but unable to attend either rehearsal are welcome to participate in the performance. Bring your score and a robe (or borrow one of ours) and join us at 2 p.m. If you plan to participate, please e-mail your name and voice part to [email protected] so your name may be included in the program.

Our longtime pianist, Mike Barnhouse, has chosen to retire after many wonderful performances. We thank him for sharing his time and talent for many years. We are pleased to announce that Mary Odin will be our pianist this year and look forward to continuing this longtime community tradition. We hope you can join us this year.

Handel’s MESSIAH returns to the Clendenin United Methodist Church on Sunday, November 28 at 3 pm. The performance by the Clendenin Community Chorus is FREE and the public is invited. Multiple options will be available. Audience members wearing masks may listen in the church sanctuary, listen in their cars in the church parking lot on the radio at 96.7 FM, or watch the performance on the Clendenin United Methodist Church page. The choir will be in the balcony, wearing masks and distanced.

The Clendenin Community Chorus will welcome anyone who would like to sing with us on Sunday, even if they have been unable to attend any rehearsals. For information contact [email protected]
