MEET THE SWU ROMANIA TEAM!!
I am truly grateful for the opportunity to be part of the Romania mission team, and I wanted to take a moment to share why this trip means so much to me.
At the core of my faith is a deep belief in the Great Commission, that we are called to go and share the Gospel with all people. While much of my ministry has been focused on serving locally, I believe just as strongly that we are called beyond our immediate communities. Acts 1:8 has always stood out to me as a guiding truth: that we are to be witnesses in our local context, in the surrounding regions, and all the way to the ends of the earth. This trip feels like a step of obedience into that broader calling. I see this opportunity not just as a mission to serve others, but as a means of grace, an opportunity for God to continue shaping my heart. I believe sanctification is not just something that happens in comfort, but often through stepping into the unknown with trust and humility. I am going into this trip with an open mind and an open heart, not fully knowing what to expect, but confident that God will be at work in ways I may not yet see. My interest in Romania has grown over time. In my small group Bible study, I had two members who were from Romania, and hearing them share about their homeland made a lasting impression on me. They spoke with such love for their country, and even shared meals with us that reflected their culture. Those moments sparked a genuine curiosity and appreciation in me. On top of that, my friend Tyler has been on this mission trip multiple times and has always spoken about it with such passion and joy. Hearing his experiences made a strong impact and helped confirm my desire to be part of this team. More than anything, I am looking forward to being used by God in whatever way He sees fit. Whether that is through serving, encouraging, listening, or simply being present, I want to be available. I am also looking forward to learning—learning from the people we meet, from the culture, and from what God wants to teach me through this experience. Thank you for allowing me to be part of this mission. I am excited, humbled, and expectant for what is ahead.
