There’s a closet at Buffalo Creek Fellowship that most people never see. 🔥

Inside it: a Roman centurion’s helmet. Angel robes with lights sewn right into the fabric. A pair of gold wings.

Six weeks from now all of it walks out that door and into the dark, and the Christmas story gets told one campfire at a time — by people from right here in our community, in costumes that have been pulled out, repaired, and hung back up every December for ten years running.

Pastor Carol gave us a look inside this week. Consider this your early peek.

Right now it’s just a field. 🔥

Pastor Carol walked the grounds this week while the garland was going up, and somewhere in the middle of it she stopped and said the thing we’ve all been thinking: just imagine what it’ll look like when you show up.

In about seven weeks, this quiet stretch of grass becomes a trail of campfires — the Christmas story told one fire at a time, walked instead of watched, in the dark and the cold with your family next to you. Tenth year we’ve done it.

It’s official — the Trail of Campfires is back for its 10th year. 🔥

Christmas gets loud. The shopping, the schedule, the trying to make it perfect for everybody. Somewhere in there, the actual story gets crowded out.

So we do what we’ve done for ten years now: we walk it. A guided tour through the life of Jesus, told campfire by campfire under the December sky, brought to life by people from right here in our community.

It’s free. It’s always been free. Bring your kids, bring your neighbors, bring whoever’s in town for the holidays.
