🦉 Come meet some wild neighbors! 🦎

Join Scouting America Pack 404 this Tuesday, August 25 @ 6:30 PM for a special visit from McGough Nature Park's "Friends of Largo Nature Parks" volunteers — they're bringing live birds of prey, turtles, and maybe a few surprise critters straight from their Pinellas County rescue!

Please join us as we gather in prayer for Leoncio Vasquez, beloved father of Fr. Amaro, who passed away unexpectedly in Peru.

A bilingual Memorial Mass will be celebrated in his memory:

We invite our parish community to come together to pray for the repose of Leoncio’s soul and to surround Fr. Amaro and the Vasquez-Ortiz family with our prayers, love, and support during this difficult time.

As a new school year approaches, join us at all Masses on Saturday, August 8 & Sunday, August 9 for a special blessing of our students, teachers, and their backpacks!

Students — bring your backpacks to Mass with you! We'll be praying for a year filled with wisdom, courage, and God's protection over every student, teacher, and staff member heading back to the classroom.

"Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these." — Matthew 19:14

✨ Today the Church celebrates the Feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord.

On the mountain, Peter, James, and John saw Jesus revealed in glory — and heard the Father's voice: "This is my beloved Son... listen to him." (Mt 17:5)

It's a moment that reminds us Jesus is who He says He is — and that our own lives, however ordinary, are meant to be transfigured by His light too.

Take a moment today to sit with this Gospel and ask: where is God inviting me to see Him more clearly?

"This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased; listen to him." — Matthew 17:5

✨ Hoy la Iglesia celebra la Fiesta de la Transfiguración del Señor.

En el monte, Pedro, Santiago y Juan vieron a Jesús revelado en gloria — y escucharon la voz del Padre: "Este es mi Hijo amado... escúchenlo." (Mt 17:5)

On Mount Tabor, Peter, James, and John caught a glimpse of Christ's glory — a moment of light before the road to Jerusalem. It's a reminder that even in the ordinary rhythm of our days, we're called to pause, look up, and listen for His voice.

St. John Vianney, the patron saint of parish priests, grew up during the French Revolution when Catholics—especially priests—often had to hide in order to celebrate and receive the Sacraments. Witnessing their courage inspired him deeply, and he later became the humble and devoted parish priest of Ars, France.⁣

May the example of St. John Vianney inspire all priests in their ministry and encourage those who may be discerning a call to the priesthood.⁣
