Kingdom Thinking-1 “Field Of Treasure”
https://youtu.be/DFX-kLshGDY

Matt. 13:44 The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and covered up. Then in his joy he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field.

The Treasure is Jesus The Eternal King.
The Field is His Kingdom.

WHY does the man Sell all he has to Purchase the Field?

The answer is at the heart of kingdom Thinking: Because the Treasure and the Field it’s in are inseparable. Like an Oil Field—you must Purchase the Field to Possess the Treasure that’s in it.

But here’s where Kingdom Thinking and Religious Thinking differ:

Religious Thinking sees Jesus and the Kingdom as 2 separate things. I can possess Jesus but visit the Kingdom.

Kingdom Thinking sees the Kingdom as the RESULT of Jesus.

Wherever Jesus is His K’dom is.

Luke 11:20 But if I am casting out demons by the power of God, then the Kingdom of God has arrived among you.

Where the King is His Kingdom is.

The Kingdom is emanating from His Presence. In essence, the KOG isn’t an institution, organization, denomination, political structure, geographical territory, or even the church. It originates in the Divine Authority residing in Jesus.

The Field isn’t real estate Jesus resides in.
It’s the Condition His Presence Creates!

The Kingdom is the inevitable, irrepressible, effulgence of the King. Jesus’ explanation of His Kingdom prohibits us from thinking about Jesus and The Kingdom of God as 2 separate things—Jesus over here and His territory over there.

His Presence is His Kingdom!

Rom. 14:17 for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.

Visualize Jesus moving through the Gospels. He doesn't travel around looking for “The Field”—places where the Kingdom already exists—so He can enter them and be the King.

He arrives—and Kingdom happens…

He enters a place dominated by sickness: healing occurs.
He encounters demonic power: deliverance occurs.
He encounters condemnation: forgiveness occurs.
He encounters chaos: peace occurs.
He encounters death: life occurs.
He encounters religious distortion: truth occurs.

Jesus shows up. The Kingdom shows up.

Think again about this statement: The Kingdom is the inevitable, irrepressible, effulgence of the King.

Effulgence comes from Heb. 1:3 where the Bible states, Jesus is the RADIANCE (EFFULGENCE) of God’s glory and the exact representation of His nature, and upholds all things by the word of His power.

Effulgence/Radiance is central to Kingdom Thinking…
Light doesn't negotiate whether it will illuminate its surroundings.

Fire doesn't deliberate about whether it will produce heat.

The sun doesn't decide whether radiance will accompany it.

Radiance belongs to what IT IS.

Therefore the person who finds Jesus can no more take Him from the KOG, than you can have the Sun w/o its Radiance.

Declining to “purchase the Field”—the Radiance, the Kingdom—is Declining to RELOCATE and be with Jesus.

Sometimes our Christian language can unintentionally leave our old center of gravity intact:

Jesus has brought meaning to…
My life.
My plans.
My values.
My ambitions.
My identity.
My worldview.

But Jesus illustration of Kingdom overturns the concept of receiving Jesus as simply Remodeling our old property with Christian furnishings. It replaces it with a total call to RELOCATION. Leaving a sign at the old door, “We’ve moved. New address: KOG”

Our Story: Kathy & I Found Jesus. Sold all. Left home. Moved in with Him. Became Jesus People. And I immediately began sharing the gospel up and down the East Coast of America: Atlanta, Washington DC, Baltimore, New Haven, Connecticut. After four years, the Lord called us to leave everything and go to New Haven and plant a great revival church.

Selling the world and buying the Kingdom had set in motion a trajectory of Kingdom Thinking that would guide us for decades to come. By the time the call to New Haven came Kathy & I had already MOVED. Not geographically, but Governmentally. So when the King said GO, the primary question wasn’t:

Is this financially secure?
What resources do we have?
What's our backup plan?
Does this fit the normal career trajectory?

Those aren't foolish questions. But they no longer occupied the throne. The governing question had become: WHAT IS THE KING SAYING?

We arrived in New Haven empty-handed, but FULL. The amazing things took place in New Haven were because that church was founded upon a 100% Relocation. Not from FLA to CONN, but from the world to the Field of Treasure.

This story isn’t a pattern that you must follow, but a principle testimony for your own journey with The King!

No other message is more central to the Gospel than Kingdom Thinking.

The Gospel isn’t so much the story of Jesus coming into the world, as much as it is Jesus’ Presenting the KOG to the world!

Luke 4:43 Jesus said, “I must preach the Good News of the Kingdom Of GOD

The KOG is the Good News that the Bad News of the World is looking for. And your life must be its proclamation…Luke 9:59-60 To another he said, “Follow me.” But he said, “Lord, let me first go and bury my father.”And Jesus said to him, “Leave the dead to bury their own dead. But as for you, go and proclaim the kingdom of God.”

What To DO, BE and AVOID-5 “MREs For Disciples”

https://youtu.be/4-crEsLATuw

Is. 1:16-20 …Come now, and let us reason together, says the LORD…If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land…

This series is about distilling all the guidelines of scripture, without dumbing-down their meaning, into a concentration of truth designed to feed those who daily walk with Jesus. It’s a Discipleship Nutritional System of Doable Truth packaged into 3 interlocking Disciplines:
What to DO
What to BE, and
What to AVOID

Think of these 3 practices as MRE’s 4 DISCIPLES. They’re designed to be digested DAILY, because if you can manage a Day you can manage a LIFE!

What to DO — establishes your daily practices as a disciple. What to BE — forms your character as a disciple. What to AVOID — protects your formation as a disciple.
If you like acronyms (like I do) you can call this the Disciples’ DBA List. Let’s review the DBA Lists…
What To-DO List: Establishes the practices of discipleship.

Read your Bible & Pray.
Keep Fellowship with the Body of Christ.
Seek Redemptive Wisdom.
Share Jesus.

What To-BE List: Forms the character of the disciple.

BE Loving.
BE Humble.
BE Enduring.
BE Hungry.

What To-AVOID List: Protects the disciple from what corrupts their formation

AVOID Fault-Finding.
AVOID Strife.
AVOID Lust & Greed.

These Discipleship MREs are interlocking, in that they cross-pollinate and reinforce one another. For example:

Humility changes how we handle Faults in others, and Love restrains Condemnation.

Endurance prevents trials from pressuring us into Strife and Offense.

Spiritual Hunger redirects our desire toward God, and away from Lust & Greed, which protects our capacity to keep doing and becoming what God desires.

Practicing your DBAs helps you to see how God’s vast volume of Truth cross-pollinates itself. And it becomes more than your lens for understanding Life. You see it emerge as the Architecture of Discipleship. Suddenly Truth is more than what you KNOW. It becomes what you DO!

This system of MRE’s 4 Disciples will become your fortification against becoming confused and diluted by all the voices of the world.

Walking through this world with Jesus, as His Disciple, is like walking through a loud overcrowded shopping mall filled with voices, while trying to listen to Jesus.

Paul referenced this when commenting in 1Cor. 14:10, There are so many kinds of voices in the world, and none of them is without significance.

We live surrounded daily by voices competing for attention, interpretation, allegiance, and response. These voices travel with us daily. So the challenge isn't simply: Do I KNOW truth? But can I RETRIEVE the right truth at the moment it’s needed? This is where MREs 4 DISCIPLES becomes your Fortification and Life-Support.

People drowning in information don't need MORE information. They need a few governing truths strong enough to organize a framework for living.

When the voices start shouting at you, your MREs 4 DISCIPLES will respond:
Here's what I DO.Here's what I AM.Here's what I AVOID.
NOW I've got COORDINATES!
And because each COORDINATE is anchored in Scripture, these are more than slogans. They’re a retrieval device for biblical truth. The memorable phrases aren't the meal—they’re the pull-tab on your MREs…
Pull the “NO TAKER—NO TRAP” tab, and out comes an entire biblical understanding of guarding the heart against offense and strife.
Pull “FEED YOUR FIRE” tab, and you're suddenly back into Matt. 5:6 Those who hunger and thirst for righteousness…
Jer. 29:13 You’ll search and find Me..with all your heart…
Phil. 3 …That I may know…apprehend Him…I press
2Tim. 1:6 Stir up the gift…
Ultimately what measures the value of this message isn't whether somebody says, “That was profound.” But whether suddenly confronted by a trial, they remember their MREs and say, “I know what to DO here.”
