Faithful, Not Perfect
Devotional
God isn't looking for perfect people; He's looking for faithful people. The difference is crucial. Perfect people don't exist, but faithful people choose to keep showing up, keep trying, and keep trusting God even when they fail. Fruit in our spiritual lives doesn't come from achieving flawless results - it comes from faithful obedience to what God has called us to do. Maybe you're an introvert who struggles with evangelism, or someone dealing with personal struggles while trying to help others. That's okay. God uses imperfect, faithful people to accomplish His purposes. Your direct relationship with Jesus is what matters most. You don't need a human proxy to validate your faith or mediate your relationship with God. Jesus Himself is your cornerstone, your foundation, your connection to the Father. When you know His voice and follow Him faithfully, you become part of His living church - not a building, but a community of believers who are being built together into something beautiful and eternal.

Bible Verse
'But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God's special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.' - 1 Peter 2:7-9

Reflection Question
How can you be more faithful in the small, everyday aspects of following Jesus?

Quote
My heart is for each one here that you would know his voice. Because Jesus says, my sheep know my voice. And if you know his voice, you're going to follow Him. I hope you know his voice.

The Rejected Cornerstone
Devotional
In construction, the cornerstone is everything. It determines the alignment of the entire building - if it's off, the whole structure fails. Jesus identified Himself as the cornerstone that the builders rejected, yet God made Him the most important stone in the foundation. This wasn't an accident or a backup plan; it was God's design all along. The religious leaders thought they were protecting their faith by rejecting Jesus, but they were actually rejecting the very foundation of true faith. Here's what's amazing: even though Christ was rejected, His plan wasn't thwarted. God used their rejection to accomplish salvation for the world. Today, Jesus remains the cornerstone of our faith - not religion, not rituals, not human approval, but Jesus Christ alone. When we align our lives with Him as our foundation, everything else falls into proper place. Without Him as our cornerstone, even our best efforts become crooked and unstable.

Bible Verse
'The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone.' - Psalm 118:22

Reflection Question
What areas of your life need to be realigned with Jesus as the cornerstone?

Quote
Christ was rejected, but his plan was not thwarted, was it?

The Pattern of Rejection
Devotional
Throughout history, God has sent messengers to call His people back to Him. Prophets like Jeremiah and Isaiah faced persecution, imprisonment, and death for speaking God's truth. John the Baptist was beheaded for confronting sin. This pattern reveals something profound about human nature - we often resist the very voices God sends to help us. Why? Because truth challenges our comfort zones and exposes areas where we need to change. The religious leaders in Jesus' parable didn't just ignore the servants; they actively opposed them because these messengers threatened their power and position. Today, we might not physically harm God's messengers, but we can still reject His voice when it comes through His Word, godly friends, or our conscience. The question isn't whether God is speaking - He always is. The question is whether we're listening with humble hearts, ready to respond in obedience rather than defensiveness.

Bible Verse
'They were put to death by stoning; they were sawed in two; they were killed by the sword. They went about in sheepskins and goatskins, destitute, persecuted and mistreated.' - Hebrews 11:37

Reflection Question
When has God used someone or something to speak truth into your life that you initially resisted?

Quote
Religious people always are worried about what other people think.

Love Your Enemies
Devotional
"Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you." These words from Jesus seemed impossible until we saw Him live them out in the most extreme circumstances imaginable. Hanging on a cross, beaten and bloodied, with nails through His hands and feet, Jesus looked down at the very people who put Him there and prayed, "Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do." This wasn't just beautiful teaching—it was beautiful living. We all have people who have hurt us, betrayed us, or made our lives difficult. Jesus' example shows us that forgiveness isn't about excusing their behavior or pretending it didn't hurt. It's about choosing love over bitterness, grace over revenge, and prayer over payback. When we love our enemies, we're not just following a command—we're reflecting the heart of God who loved us while we were still His enemies. This kind of love transforms not only those who receive it but especially those who give it. It frees us from the prison of resentment and opens our hearts to experience God's love more fully.

Bible Verse
'But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your Father in heaven.' - Matthew 5:44-45

Reflection Question
Who in your life do you need to pray for instead of resent, and what would it look like to show them love rather than hold onto hurt?

Quote
"And he draws a breath and he says, father, forgive them. They know not what they do. Love your enemy and pray for those who persecute you. Not just beautiful words. This was demonstrated by our Savior in the most extraordinary way possible." Sam Jundt

God Knew and Prepared
Devotional
Have you ever felt like your mistakes caught God off guard? That somehow your failures surprised the Creator of the universe? Take comfort in this truth: God is never caught off guard by our choices, even our worst ones. When God spoke to Adam and Eve about the forbidden tree, He used the word "when," not "if." This wasn't pessimism—it was divine foreknowledge coupled with perfect preparation. Before the first bite was taken, before the first tear was shed, God already had a rescue plan in motion. This means that whatever situation you're facing today—whether it's the consequence of your own poor choices or simply life's unexpected challenges—God saw it coming. He's not scrambling to figure out how to help you. He's not surprised by your circumstances. Instead, He's been preparing a way through, a way forward, and ultimately, a way home. Your current struggle isn't the end of your story. God's preparation extends beyond your present circumstances to your eternal future. He's got this, and He's got you.

Bible Verse
'And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel.' - Genesis 3:15

Reflection Question
What current challenge in your life becomes less overwhelming when you remember that God saw it coming and has already prepared a way through?

Quote
"Now, this is good news because he used the word when, which tells us he was not surprised when. When Adam and Eve ate of it. Our God is prepared. He knows what we're going to do." -----Sam Jundt
