Grace Bible Fellowship

Grace Bible Fellowship Pastor Hartley teaches the Gospel according to the "Revelation of the Mystery" by Rightly Dividing the Word. Not of works, lest any man should boast.

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God. Grace Bible Fellowship exists because of a concern to present and to preserve the truth of God’s Word and to tell our community about Jesus Christ. Its founders were committed to developing a place of open fellowship based upon a dispensational understanding of the church and its purpose in the world. The f

irst meeting took place on Sunday morning, March 7, 1955, in a railroad depot located in Wadesville, Virginia. That meeting was attended by 13 people with Pastor Craig Burleson as the first pastor of the church. The church experienced wonderful growth and was able to build a new facility in 1964, and then expanded by adding a fellowship hall/gymnasium in 1965. Through the years Grace Bible Fellowship has remained committed to faithfully teaching God’s Word, rightly divided, and to preaching the Good News of Jesus Christ.

When John the Baptist and the Lord Jesus Christ appeared on earth, God's people had been under the law of Moses for fifteen hundred years. Little wonder John and his Master looked for fruit among them. When the hypocritical religious leaders came to join John's growing audience and asked to be ba

"And He saith unto them, Is it lawful to do good on the sabbath days, or to do evil? to save life, or to kill? But they held their peace. "And when He had looked round about on them with anger, being grieved for the hardness of their hearts, He saith unto the man. Stretch forth thine hand. And he

"I am [have been] crucified with Christ" (Gal. 2:20). What is salvation? It is actually coming into oneness with the Lord Jesus Christ. "The wages of sin is death" and "the soul that sinneth it shall die," but Christ was not a sinner. Even Pontius Pilate, after having examined Him carefully, s

St. Peter was not wrong when he declared at Pentecost that the last days had begun (Acts 2:16,17). They had indeed begun, but God had a secret plan to give the world a period of grace before putting down its rebellion and sending Christ to reign. This secret purpose concerning "the dispensation o

The newspapers are filled with sensational news these days, but the divine extension of this present age of grace is the most sensational news of all, yet most newspapers rarely, if ever, mention it. We are prone to take the blessings of our times too much for granted. We forget too easily that f

Scripture Reference: "Rebuke not an elder, but entreat him as a father; and the younger men as brethren; the elder women as mothers; the younger as sisters, with all purity." -- I Timothy 5:1,2 The Apostle Paul deals with many different types of relationships in his epistles, but perhaps the most

Scripture Reading: "Woe unto him that giveth his neighbour drink, that puttest thy bottle to him, and makest him drunken." -- Habakkuk 2:15 There are many passages in the Word of God, such as the above, that are timeless and transcend all the dispensations of God. While the liquor industry goes to g

"And such were some of you; but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified, in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God" (I Cor. 6:11). The preceding verses of I Cor. 6 contain a long list of vile sins and vices into which men have fallen, and the Apostle adds: "A

"And when they had sung an hymn, they went out..." (Matt.26:30). Often have we wondered what might have been the words of that sacred hymn, but God has seen fit to keep this from us for the present. We have in our Bibles many great poetic expressions: the Song of Moses, the beautiful Magnificat,

Who May Obtain What? In Paul’s First Epistle to the Corinthians (I Corinthians 9:24) the Lord instructs His people in this language, “so run that ye may obtain.” This Epistle is addressed to all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord: It is addressed to saved people. I...

Man, by nature, is afraid of God. When Adam first sinned, he should have gone immediately to God to beg for mercy and forgiveness. Instead he did just what millions are doing today: he ran and hid from God so that God had to come and look for Him, as it were, calling: "Adam... where art thou?" (Gen.

We have said that the Bereans were commended for listening with open minds to teachings which they had never heard before. Yes, when they were confronted with them. It was the Athenians, not the Bereans, who made it their policy to consider as many viewpoints as possible on every subject (Acts 17:18
