Happy Sabbath to all believers. This is Pastor Samuel Curtis of Strait Gate Commandment Ministries. Despite man’s tradition, tomorrow before sundown, Jesus walked out of the sepulcher, confirming the covenant. This week lined up perfectly with the scriptures in which our Lord and Savior was crucified. Sunday was Palm Sunday (John 12:12,13). Monday Judas and the chief priests, conspired to kill Jesus (Matthew 26:2-5) Jesus was also anointed by the woman with alabaster box, moved by the Spirit to prepare his body for the burial. Tuesday, 13th day of Nisan at even, Christ instituted the Lord’s Supper or communion (Matthew 26:20) That night he wept, was betrayed and denied which was the evening of the 14th day (biblical evening. Evening brings in a day; night then morning). This lines up perfectly with the ordinance prophetically given in the Book of the Law (law of Moses) which the passover lamb is to be killed before sunset on the 14th day.
Wednesday morning, Jesus is seen by Pilate and set before the people who declared him to be crucified. Wednesday from the 6th - 9th hour, as Christ was on the cross, there was darkness. In that 9th hour, roughly 3pm our time, Christ gave up the ghost and said “It is finished” (Luke 23:44-46) & was buried before the passover. Christ, the Passover (1 Corinthians 5:7) died & was buried before the Passover (Matthew 27:57-66) which is the yearly sabbath, to begin at even (sunset).
The prophecy of Christ dying in the midst of the week (Daniel 9:27) helps us conclude that Christ did not die on a Friday.
Along with Matthew 12:40,
“For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.”
So Christ was buried before sunset Wednesday. 3 days and 3 nights has Christ rising near sunset on the weekly 7th day Sabbath.
Thank God for your word!
“I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes.”
Happy Sabbath
