This morning, as so many students, teachers, administrators, and staff begin a new school year, we want them to know that Believers Baptist Church is praying for them. 🙏

We pray for the child walking into a new classroom with a nervous heart. We pray for the teacher carrying the responsibility of shaping young lives. We pray for the parents letting go just a little more today. We pray for every bus driver, cafeteria worker, custodian, administrator, and staff member who will help make our schools places of safety, learning, and encouragement.

May God give wisdom where decisions must be made, patience when the days are difficult, strength when everyone is tired, and kindness in every interaction.

Most of all, we pray that our young people would know that wherever this school year takes them, the Lord is with them.

“Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” — Proverbs 3:5–6

To everyone heading back to school today: you are being prayed for. May the Lord bless you and give you a wonderful year ahead. ❤️📚

Thomas said:

“I will not believe.”

Then he met the risen Jesus and declared:

“My Lord and my God.”

What happens when you believe in Jesus… but still have questions?

For nearly 2,000 years, we've given one disciple a nickname based on one moment of his life:

“Doubting Thomas.”

But Thomas was more than his doubt.

He loved Jesus.
He followed Jesus.
He was even willing to die with Jesus.

Then the cross happened.

His world fell apart. His expectations were shattered. And Thomas reached a place where he finally said:

“I will not believe.”

But here's what I love about his story...

Jesus wasn't finished with Thomas.

This Sunday, we continue our PEOPLE JESUS CHANGED series with Week 11:

THE DOUBTING DISCIPLE

When Faith Has Questions
📖 John 20:24–29

Maybe you believe—but you're struggling.

Maybe you've prayed—but you don't understand God's answer.

Maybe something happened that left you asking, “God, where are You?”

You don't have to pretend you don't have questions.

Bring them to Jesus.

Because Thomas's story didn't end with:

“I will not believe.”

It ended with:

“MY LORD AND MY GOD.”

What an incredible journey we've been on together!

Over the past several weeks in our "People Jesus Changed" series, we've watched Jesus transform lives that everyone else thought were beyond hope.

A religious leader.
A broken woman.
A desperate father.
A forgotten man.
A condemned woman.
A man born blind.
A family grieving the loss of someone they loved.

Each story reminds us of one simple truth:

Nobody meets Jesus and stays the same.

This Sunday, we'll continue our series by looking at one of the most familiar stories in the Gospels—but perhaps not in the way you've heard it before.

Most people remember the little man who climbed a tree.

But what if the real story isn't about a man searching for Jesus...
