Peter wept bitterly, likely not because he had been caught, but because he had seen the face of the One who loved him perfectly. There is a sacred kind of grief that comes when we realize our sin has been against a Savior so beautiful, so faithful, and so kind, yet even then His eyes are still full of mercy.

When the Holy Spirit opens our eyes, we do not mourn merely because we broke a rule. We mourn because we see the beauty of Christ, the purity of His love, the cost of the cross, and how often our hearts have wandered from Him. Yet that grief is strangely sweet, because the same Savior who reveals our sin is the One who gathers us near, washes us clean, and reminds us that His mercy is deeper than our failure.

Many people are comfortable calling Jesus a good teacher, a wise man, or a moral example, but Jesus never left us that option. His words, His miracles, His authority to forgive sins, and His resurrection all point to something greater: He is Lord. The question is not whether Jesus was good, but whether we will surrender to who He truly is and let Him rule every part of our lives.

The gospel reminds us that God doesn't need perfect people. He saves us, changes us, and uses us for His glory. What makes a life significant is not who we are, but Whose we are.

When faced with temptation in the wilderness, Christ overcame. Obedience to His Father's Word reigned supreme above all else, and in overcoming this testing He proved further that He indeed was the Son of God.

You don’t stand before God because you measured up. You stand because Jesus stepped in, carried the weight of sin, and gave what none of us could earn. 🙏🏼
