It's that time of year! We're excited to kick off our spring season of Upward Soccer at River Community Church for grades K-7. This is a great way to learn soccer skills while having fun with friends. All kids, including absolute beginners and kids who don't normally like sports, are welcome! NEW this year--free Pre-K group for siblings while their older sisters and brothers practice. What is Upward Soccer?

This fall we are prayerfully planning to launch Upward Soccer (upward.org), a nationally recognized sports program for children in grades 1st-7th. This program gives children a chance to be outside on the beautiful grounds of River Community Church, hanging out with their friends and responsible adults who love Jesus, and learning about God while playing soccer-based games. A child can come to Upward Soccer without ever having kicked a soccer ball before and find friendship and a new understanding of just how much God loves them....plus, knowing River Church, we'll probably have some good snacks, too! :-)

FAMILIES: An informational gathering will be held for soccer players, 1st - 7th grade, and their families on Saturday, 8/26 starting at 9 am at River Community Church. Early bird registration at a reduced rate ($45) is available through 8/25; however, we will still accept regular registrations through 8/28. Discounts are available for multiple children in the same family. Registration fees include a t-shirt, a pair of soccer socks, a water bottle, a soccer ball, a cinch bag, and other surprises throughout the season. Please let us know if finances are an issue, and we will do our best to assist you.

Practices are Thursday evenings at 6:30 PM beginning 8/31 at the field behind River Community Church. Games are on Saturday mornings at 9 AM beginning 9/9 at the same location. Children of all abilities and experience are welcome; informal "evaluations" at the beginning of the season help us to make sure each child is with others of similar abilities/ experience so that every child has a positive learning environment.
