The “Prayer for the New Year” is a prayer that invites the faithful to pause and lift their hearts to God – thanking Him for the blessings of the past and placing the unknown future in His providential hands. It asks the Lord to bless families, strengthen His Church, draw back those who have strayed, grant wisdom to world leaders, comfort the suffering, and receive into eternal rest all who have died.
Heavenly Father, Author of all time and eternity, we come before You at the threshold of this new year with grateful and hopeful hearts. We thank You for the blessings of the year now passing and place ourselves entirely in Your providential care.
Pour out Your abundant blessings upon our families and friends. May our homes be sanctuaries of Your peace, where love grows deeper and wounds are healed through the grace of forgiveness.
We pray for Your Holy Church – for our Holy Father, Pope Leo, for our bishops and priests, and for all the faithful throughout the world. Strengthen those who proclaim Your Gospel, and renew the hearts of all who serve You.
Grant wisdom to the leaders of nations, that justice may flourish and true peace take root in every land. Extend Your merciful hand to those burdened by poverty or suffering, that they may find relief and know they are not forgotten.
And Father, welcome into Your eternal rest all who have died this past year, and prepare the souls of those whom You will call home in this new year.
As we step forward into the unknown days before us, be our constant guide – and may this be a year in which we grow ever closer to You and to one another.
We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

La "Oración por el Año Nuevo" es una oración que invita a los fieles a hacer una pausa y elevar sus corazones a Dios, agradeciéndole las bendiciones del pasado y colocando el futuro desconocido en Sus manos providenciales. Le pide al Señor que bendiga a las familias, fortalezca Su Iglesia, atraiga a aquellos que se han extraviado, otorgue sabiduría a los líderes mundiales, consuele el sufrimiento y reciba en reposo eterno a todos los que han mu**to.
Padre Celestial, Autor de todo el tiempo y la eternidad, venimos ante Ti en el umbral de este nuevo año con corazones agradecidos y esperanzados. Le agradecemos por las bendiciones del año que ahora pasa y nos colocamos completamente en su cuidado providencial.
Derrama tus abundantes bendiciones sobre nuestras familias y amigos. Que nuestros hogares sean santuarios de Tu paz, donde el amor crece más profundo y las heridas se curan a través de la gracia del perdón.
Oramos por Su Santa Iglesia, por nuestro Santo Padre, el Papa Leo, por nuestros obispos y sacerdotes, y por todos los fieles de todo el mundo. Fortalece a aquellos que proclaman Tu Evangelio y renueva los corazones de todos los que te sirven.
Concede sabiduría a los líderes de las naciones, para que la justicia florezca y la verdadera paz eche raíces en cada tierra. Extiende tu mano misericordiosa a aquellos agobiados por la pobreza o el sufrimiento, para que puedan encontrar alivio y saber que no son olvidados.
Y Padre, bienvenido a tu descanso eterno a todos los que han mu**to el año pasado, y prepara las almas de aquellos a quienes llamarás hogar en este nuevo año.
