To Mt. Calvary, Heath Conner was each of these, and we had the privilege of being able to call him one of our own. Heath’s walk with the Lord began at our church. Once he accepted the Lord as His Savior, he was on fire, a fire that was never quenched. He started singing in the choir, began teaching Bible lessons in small group and then Sunday School. He became our youth director and was selected as the P*e Dee Camp director. He later was ordained as one of our deacons. Yet, God had more in store for him to do. Heath was called to preach and was ultimately called to be a pastor. We at Mt. Calvary were blessed to witness the development of Heath’s relationship with the Lord.
One of the most quoted scriptures at our church from Heath was Romans 8:28 - “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”
This is a promise God has given us and something we must hold onto even when we do not understand. God’s plan is perfect, and we have the blessed assurance that Heath is with our Lord and Savior waiting for us to join him one day. To know Heath was to love him, we are heartbroken as part of our family is gone. He was deeply loved and will forever be missed. We send our love, prayers, and support to Kellie, Emmie, Luke, and the rest of the family. May God give the comfort and peace that only He can give.
