ut the world. Louis Parish on the third Wednesday of each month to serve others in charity and serve our community. Under the patronage of the Blessed Mother, the Catholic Daughters of the Americas are united by their faith in Jesus Christ, in their devotion to the church and the Holy See.

~*~ Who Are The Catholic Daughters? The Catholic Daughters of the Americas is one of the oldest and largest organizations of Catholic women in the Americas. They donate to charities, administer scholarship programs and strive “to be helping hands where there is pain, poverty, sorrow or sickness.”

The CDA was formed over 100 years ago and today numbers 75,000 dues-paying members in 1,250 courts (local chapters) in 45 states across the country, and in Puerto Rico, Mexico, Guam, and the Virgin Islands. Catholic Daughter women enjoy each other’s company at meetings and work hard for their parishes and communities. The program includes concerns of today’s church and society as well as issues that affect the well-being of women and children. The Legislative Program encourages interested members to learn about laws that may influence their faith and to contact their state representatives to make their personal positions known through Operation Morning Star [The Catholic Daughters of the Americas does not endorse political candidates].

In recent weeks, Mount St. Mary's Seminary administrators and faculty have joyously attended ordination ceremonies for this year's seminary graduates. In advance of his ordination last month, Fr. Daniel Andrades told the Catholic Review: “The gift of the Mount is that every man who goes through formation (there) will come out a man of deep prayer and of deep virtue. The Mount is holy ground. You cannot be at the Mount and not be transformed.” Originally from Karachi, Pakistan, Fr. Andrades has been assigned to the Archdiocese of Baltimore’s St. Louis Parish in Clarksville and St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Fulton.

The Seven Sisters apostolate is seeking women willing to commit to offering a Holy Hour exclusively for their parish priest – each on a distinct day of the week, thus covering a complete week. The commitment of each intercessor is to the day of the week versus a particular hour on a particular day. If a Seven Sister wishes to commit to a particular hour this is perfectly acceptable, and may, in fact, help her to be faithful to the commitment.
