It has been quite a week for America. There is a phrase that our country coined many years ago: “United we stand, divided we fall.” It is hard not to recognize the division amongst our country today.
Regardless of your political affiliation with or without a party, our views as Christian’s need to remain solid on some simple facts:
1- The Bible says what joy it is for a nation whose God is the Lord. We must put Him first always and remember that no matter who is president, God is still King.
2- We are not to replace wickedness with more wickedness. We do not rejoice in evil. Regardless of your opinions on any political candidate, our heart posture should remain in tact with love and not hatred; and if you wish that July 13th had resulted in a different outcome for President Trump, you need to reevaluate your heart, for there is no excuse to breed such ugly feelings for any person. As children of God, we are called to love our neighbor, and love our enemies. Our hearts and prayers go out to the families affected, regardless of any other feelings associated with this election or the assassination attempt.
3- We are in spiritual warfare, and the enemy would love to cause division amongst our nation, and even the members of the body of Christ. Our diligence in prayer must not be overlooked. It’s not about having the final say in an argument with a friend or family member of an opposing party, but it’s about letting God have the final say by destroying any wicked plots of the enemy. We achieve this through prayer and fasting. We encourage you to pray for all politicians as we strive for a better future, and revival across our land.
