Hey church community! Wanted to get some announcements posted for the community.

1. Worship for this Sunday, November 23 has been moved to 2:00 pm. We will return to our normally scheduled worship time of 11:00 am the following Sunday.

2. First Presbyterian Church will be gathering items needed and donate them to Johnson County Youth Coalition November 30, 2025. If you feel led to participate, reach out to myself (Bethany Walker-FPC music director) or Monica Price for questions. JCYC has been a blessing to our community and families in need.

3. Through the Advent season we will be having worship upstairs in the chancel. Sunday, November 30 we will be having a Hanging of the Greens service which will include decorating the tree with Christmons. Please join us as we enter one of my favorite seasons!

“People, look east. The time is near of the crowning of the year. Make your house fair as you are able. Trim the hearth and set the table. People, look east and sing today: Love, the guest, is on the way.”

We all know Election Day will be stressful and we all have differing opinions about how the day should go. The congregation invites everyone to join us at 7:30pm as the polls close on the sidewalk in front of the courthouse to pray for our nation, elected leaders, and one another. This will be a nonpartisan event and we simply ask that you come willing to pray and break bread with people you may disagree with. We will gather around 7:30 on the sidewalk in front of the courthouse. We will pray. Then we will break bread together.
The PCUSA does not require you to be Presbyterian to receive communion. All who trust and believe in Jesus Christ are welcome and we hope you will join us because the meal will not be the same without you.
