Hello friends.. Just want to share with you the local heat indexes. Our Grounds crew is out working in this everyday. We make sure they have plenty of water and power for Gatorade as the temperatures are so so hot. They work in the shade as much as possible. If you are out in the heat please take precaution to stay hydrated and cool if possible. Thank you all

The sunken gardens at Greenwood Cemetery was created by Herbert Roake, pictured in the center of the garden. This was quite the spot for courting back in the day but ONLY if the couple was properly chaperoned! Mr. Herbert Roake Sr is buried in Section 9. In 2021 his son Herbert Roake Jr, the only person born on the grounds of Greenwood Cemetery and also buried at Greenwood Cemetery, was buried in at that time the new section 13A. Herbert Jr's son Anthony bought several lots so that the rest of the family could be buried along with their ancestors, a few sections apart.
