With deep sadness, we announce the passing of Harry J. Moore, a beloved and faithful member of our church since childhood. Throughout his lifetime, he became an integral part of the church family, wearing many hats in his journey of faith. including numerous leadership positions on the Church Council, Board of Trustees and various committees. He also sang in the choir for many years and generously gave his time and talents to help maintain the church building and grounds. He was willing to step forward wherever he was needed, sharing his knowledge and wisdom, always working to build up and strengthen the church he loved. Harry’s presence, dedication, and quiet leadership have left an enduring mark on First Congregational Church.
Harry and his wife, Carol, worked tirelessly for many years in service to the Lord and their church family. They cherished over 60 years of friendship with a loyal group of church friends known as the Two x Two’s. The memories, laughter, and fellowship they shared became a treasured part of their lives. Harry will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at First Congregational Church of Clarkston on Monday, August 17, 2026, at 11:00 a.m, visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m.

It is with heartfelt sadness that we share the passing of our dear friend and longtime church member, Dick Garrison. Dick’s life was a beautiful example of faithful Christian service. His legacy reaches back to our original church in Pontiac, where he devoted countless hours to building, repairing, and serving God’s house, never seeking recognition—only the opportunity to serve.

Dick loved the Lord with unwavering faith and cherished his family, and friends with all his heart. His kindness, humility, and servant’s spirit left an enduring mark on everyone who knew him. While we grieve his passing, we are grateful for the many lives he touched and the example of faith he leaves behind. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who were blessed to know him. Memorial service will be held at our church on Saturday, July 25 10am, with service at 11am.

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our longtime church member and faithful servant, Jeff Johnson. Jeff was deeply devoted to our church and its ministries, always willing to lend a helping hand wherever it was needed. He faithfully volunteered at countless church workdays and gave endless hours to our food ministry, greeting everyone with a warm smile, kind words, and a servant’s heart. Jeff’s generosity, compassion, and unwavering dedication touched the lives of so many, and he will be greatly missed by our church family. We extend our deepest sympathy and prayers to his family and loved ones.

Curt was a faithful part of the First Congregational Church family for many years, and his kindness, friendship, and warm spirit will be deeply missed.
