Today was a bitter sweet day. It was the last service of Gateway Baptist Church. Due to severe structural damage to our building this decision had to be made. After much prayer and advice from professionals today was the last day. Gateway has been our church since 1989. I have pastored here for 22 years and it was one of the hardest things I have ever done. God has blessed us over the years with hundreds of people being saved. Lives were changed and homes restored. I ask for your prayers in the days ahead, I am a Preacher/Pastor and I know that God will put us in the place we belong. If I can be of service to anyone contact me here on facebook. Pray for me and my family, and for those people that have to find another church home that God will make this transition easy. I thank everyone that has ever called Gateway your church home, I say thanks for sharing your life and family with us. God bless you all and remember Jesus is as close as the mention of His name.

Attention Gateway Baptist Church! There will be No Services tomorrow February 1,2026. Due to the extreme cold weather and road conditions, I feel that we need to be cautious and stay home. A lot of the side roads are still really slippery and unsafe. I take my responsibility as Pastor seriously, and part of that responsibility is to make sure everyone is safe. God bless you all, and pray for your family, friends and neighbors.

Gateway Church Family, one of the greatest preachers that ever preached has passed away. Dr. Lavon Boatner is now shouting all over Heaven. He helped me through some difficult times. When I became a Pastor and I got to have Doc Boatner preach a Revival I felt that I had arrived. I’m thankful to have known Doc and I love him dearly. Dr. Scott L. Boatner l am praying for you and your family. Pray for the Boatner Family! See you soon Doc !!
