Never Alone begins today!

We're excited to begin our four-week women's Bible study today. There's something special about gathering together, opening God's Word, and being reminded that we don't have to walk through life alone.

Whether you're coming with a friend or showing up on your own, we hope you'll find encouragement, connection, and time to grow in your faith.

BUT GOD.

At just 10 years old, Michael Steel entered foster care. As he grew older, he found himself caught up in drugs and eventually convicted of aggravated burglary, facing a five-year sentence.

But God wasn’t finished writing his story.

Michael was given an opportunity to join Life Changers, a one-year discipleship program that taught him the most important truth of all: a relationship with Jesus is the most important thing in life.

And everything began to change.

On June 8, Michael celebrated five years clean and sober! Praise God for His faithfulness, for meeting the desires of Michael’s heart, and for blessing him with a family of his own as he breaks generational cycles and builds a new legacy.

Michael’s story is a powerful reminder that our past does not have to define our future. God’s love changes lives. His promises offer hope. And no matter where you’ve been or what you’re facing, He is still at work.

This may be Michael’s testimony, but we all have a story. Whatever you’re walking through today, the same God who transformed Michael’s life can transform yours, too.

Our God is a God of redemption, restoration, and new beginnings. No story is too broken. No past is too messy. No life is beyond His reach.

All glory to God for what He has done and what He is still doing!

We've talked about being sent and how God uses ordinary disciples for an extraordinary mission. Now comes the part that really matters: living it out every day.

It's easy to think of missions as something that happens in another country or during a special church event. But what if we started seeing every ordinary day as an opportunity to make a difference?

The person sitting beside you at work. The neighbor you keep meaning to check on. The family member who needs encouragement. The stranger who needs someone to show them kindness.

What if we stopped waiting for the perfect opportunity and started being faithful right where God has already placed us?

We are sent people. Let's live like it.

Meet Michael and Miranda!

Every church has people who help make things happen behind the scenes, and these two are a great example of that.

Miranda puts together our weekly church bulletin, helping keep everyone connected to what's happening at Refuge. Michael helped install the doors in our new building, doing the kind of work that makes this place feel a little more like home.

These may seem like small things, but a church is built through countless acts of service, both big and small. It's people showing up, using their gifts, and being willing to help wherever they're needed.

We're thankful for Michael and Miranda, for their hearts to serve, and for the part they play in what God is doing at Refuge.

Church isn't just a building. It's people who care about one another and work together to make room for others.

We're glad you're part of the Refuge family!

Classic cars, good people, and time to just hang out!

Join us tomorrow, Saturday, October 24, from 5–8 PM at the ’80s Car Cruise-In in Jamestown!

Look for the Refuge Community Church easy-up on the right side of the Halls Pharmacy building, in the parking lot on the corner of Livingston Ave.

Bring a lawn chair and come hang out with us! Bring dinner, snacks, or something to drink if you’d like — or just show up as you are.

We’re keeping it simple: enjoying the cars, taking in the smell of exhaust, unwinding from the week, and spending time together in community.

No agenda. No pressure. Just good fellowship!

It’s FREE, and everyone is welcome!

We’ll see you there!

Ladies, you don't have to do life alone.

We're starting a four-week women's Bible study called 'Never Alone' on Monday, October 26, at 6 PM.

Life can get busy, and sometimes we carry things quietly that no one else knows about. This is an opportunity to spend time in God's Word, build meaningful relationships, and be reminded that we were never meant to walk through life alone.

Whether you've been part of a Bible study for years or this would be your first one, we'd love for you to join us.
