Senior Pastor
First Baptist Church - Clark, Missouri
The Pastor of First Baptist Church, Clark is called by God to follow Christ by using the gifts given to him by the Holy Spirit in order to enable the church to focus on the Great Commission. He is called to equip the Body of Christ to carry out the six functions of the church: Evangelism, Discipleship, Ministry, Fellowship, Worship, and Prayer.
Job Description:
The Pastor is expected to lead the congregation in faithful obedience to the Lord. He is to help us live out our faith by equipping us to know the Word and live the Word. He is to faithfully preach the Bible and help us as we seek to reach our neighbors with the Gospel for the Kingdom.
General Skills and Responsibilities:
1. Faithfully follow the Lord and lead the people of First Baptist Clark.
2. Preach the Word with the utmost of integrity.
3. Minister to the members of First Baptist Clark.
4. Develop a strategic plan for ministry to reach the people of Clark for the Kingdom and breathe new life into First Baptist Clark.
5. Plan specific opportunities for children, youth and family ministries.
6. Participate in the ministries of Crossroads Baptist Association, the MBC and the SBC as available.
7. Share the gospel on an ongoing basis, both individually and corporately.
Qualifications
1. Meet the Biblical qualifications of pastoral leadership set forth in 1 Timothy 3:1-7.
2. Experience in local church leadership including preaching, teaching, and equipping the saints for the work of the ministry.
3. Strong and growing in his faith with theological depth.
4. Aligned with the Baptist Faith and Message 2000.
5. The ideal candidate will be teachable, motivated, dependable, and relational. He will be Spirit-led, collaborate with other leaders, and will labor to reach those in our community. He will also possess organizational skills, time management, verbal, and written communication skills, and be a problem solver.
