We watch God move. We feel His nearness. We get undeniable answers to prayer.

And a few weeks later, we’re anxious and forgetful — living like none of it ever happened.

Sound familiar? It should. It’s the same pattern we shake our heads at when we read about Israel: plagues, the Red Sea, manna every single morning — and still they grumbled. Still they doubted. Still they built a golden calf.

Stop wondering how they could forget that fast. We do the same thing. We just don’t call it that.

Paul didn’t say, “for me to live is freedom.” Or ministry. Or good health.

He said, “for me to live is Christ.”

Prison couldn’t steal it. Suffering couldn’t destroy it. Even death couldn’t end it.

And Jesus demonstrated this perfectly — He gave Himself so we could have life with Him. It’s as though He said, “for me to live is you.”

Dig into His Word. Dig into prayer. Dig into dependence on the Holy Spirit. Dig into the gospel of grace. Dig into genuine Christian community.

We chase better programs. Better marketing. Greater effort.

But Jesus made it clear — that’s not what breaks through. The disciples didn’t fail because they lacked effort. They failed because they lacked dependence.
If we want to see God move, our confidence can’t rest in our own abilities. It has to rest in His presence.

Confusion. Division. Anxiety. A loss of purpose. It’s easy to look around and feel discouraged.
But a sovereign God has never been surprised by the condition of the world. He has always had a blueprint for renewal for His church.

God isn’t reacting to history. He’s directing it.
