If you’ve been hankering for a taste of Nawlins, sashay on over to Debbie and David’s home for an evening of fabulous creole cuisine. You’ll be served several favorite dishes of New Orleans–all generational, secret recipes from the bayou. Now that sounds spicy! (No really–it IS spicy–in the best way!) Seafood will also be served.

The Blessing was originally performed by Kari Jobe, Cody Carnes and Elevation Worship, and was composed by Chris Brown, Cody Carnes, Kari Jobe, Carnes, & Steven Furtick.

Stephan Nosrat is the founder and artistic director of Firelight Concerts, a Southern California concert series creating immersive live music experiences in beautiful spaces. He is grateful to be back in worship with the CUCC community after previously serving in music ministry here from 2016–2018, and looks forward to presenting his third candlelight concert at CUCC on September 19.

"Peace isn't waiting for us to agree on who owns it. It's already walking out in the world." 🕊️🌿

It’s easy for churches to become distracted by trivial arguments, broadcasting certainty about who’s "in" and who’s "out," and guarding doors with suspicion.

But when we become obsessed with things that don't matter:
❌ We miss the bigger picture of who God is.
❌ We isolate ourselves from our neighbors.
❌ We miss where God is already moving.

God’s work of peace, justice, and healing doesn't stop at church walls. Let’s stop guarding the doors and go create peace together in our communities. 🌍🤍

Save this as a reminder to focus on what truly matters. 👇

Did you know there’s a ladder in Jerusalem that hasn’t been moved since the 1700s because church leaders can’t stop fighting?

In 1757, a literal brawl broke out inside the Church of the Holy Sepulchre over who owned what. To stop the chaos, an Ottoman Sultan declared: nothing can ever be moved again without 100% agreement.

Enter: The Immovable Ladder. A 300-year-old reminder of just how ridiculous religious infighting can get. 🤦‍♂️✨
