Over 300 people are on hunger strike at Delaney Hall in New Jersey and over 100 people are on hunger strike near us at the Adelanto ICE Processing Center and Desert View Annex. The Hunger Strikers are drawing attention to inhumane conditions such as: lack of medical care, dirty water, moldy food, forced deportations, and retaliation in solitary confinement. There are now threats to transfer the Hunger Strikers to El Paso, Texas to take them out of their support network and legal network and to silence their voices.

Pastors Jen and Jacob are calling on everyone at Claremont United Church of Christ and anyone who would like to join us to participate in a solidarity hunger strike on Thursday, June 11th. We are asking you to use the time you would spend eating to take at least one of the actions in our below toolkit to help amplify their voices and demands. If you can't participate in the hunger strike portion, or need to participate on another day, you can take the actions in the toolkit any time!

Through music, games, crafts, and stories, we'll be reminded that everyone has a light inside them that matters. VBS is open to kids going into TK through 5th grade for the 2026–2027 school year. "Trauma can be reversed by positivity and peace." 🕊️

The ancient text of 2nd Timothy reminds us that our faith practices directly impact our physical well-being. Modern science completely backs this up. Countless studies show that prayer and intentional meditation can:
📉 Lower blood pressure & reduce heart strain
🧠 Alter the brain's pain-processing pathways
🛡️ Reduce inflammatory and stress responses
🤏 Decrease the size of the amygdala (our fear center!)

Less anxiety, better cognitive function, and increased heart health—all wrapped up in community and worship. ✨

June is Pride Month, and we at Claremont UCC are so very proud of our friends and church members in the LGBTQ+ community. We are blessed to have so many people from all walks of life in our congregation, and we will always be grateful to those who fight for everyone's right to live authentically and love who they love. We pray that you find peace, and pride, in the acceptance of those around you. CUCC will always be a safe space for you to be your true self.

CUCC's summer Vacation Bible School is open to kids going into TK through 5th grade for the 2026–2027 school year.

Feel free to share the registration form with friends too. If someone signs up and puts your child’s name down for how they heard about VBS, your child will get a special party favor at VBS. We love seeing friends invite friends!!
