Here is the link to our June 7 message if you were not there or would like to view it again. It is based on the environmentalist and scholar, Joanna Macy’s three stories, which apply to how we care for our Earth and the narratives that exist co-currently in our lives. “Business As Usual” speaks to the status quo; “The Great Unraveling,” where things seem to fall apart; and “The Great Turning,” where we find hope and tenacity. This is from her book, "Active Hope: How to Face the Mess We're In Without Going Crazy."

Wisdom Wednesday

“There is no path to peace. Peace is the path.” ~ Mahatma Gandhi

Peace is not only something we hope for someday.
It is something we practice in the way we speak, listen, care, forgive, and move through the world each day.

May today invite us all to walk a gentler path — within ourselves, with one another, and with our Earth.

May Peace Prevail On Earth!

You Don't Have to Change.

One of the most powerful dynamics of religion is conformity.

You MUST become like the group in order to belong.

Do not disrupt the group.

Do not deviate from the group.

Perpetuate the group.

As it is.

Love doesn't require change.

People who love understand this.

On Monday and Tuesday, June 1 and 2, we had our annual two day stint at the Hot Dog stand at Witbecks. The days were sunny and warm. There, we accepted donations from hungry Witbeck customers who received hot dogs, Polish sausages, and root beer floats. All the food was donated by Witbeck's Supermarket. All we had to supply was the personnel and the cooker.

At our 11:00 AM Sunday morning gathering, June 7, hear our speaker, the Rev. Josh Reeves, speak on the topic, via recording, "The Great Unraveling." Environmentalist and scholar, Joanna Macy’s three stories apply to how we care for our Earth and the narratives that exist concurrently in our lives. “Business As Usual” speaks to the status quo; “The Great Unraveling,” where things seem to fall apart; and “The Great Turning,” where we find hope and tenacity. Rev Reeves is one of the lead pastors of the Mile High Center for Spiritual Living congregation in Denver.
