This week we will be studying from Mark 1. We’ll take a fresh look at what the beginning of Jesus’ ministry in Galilee can tell us and the good news He was proclaiming.

We’re back in the book of Hosea tonight. This week, we continue our study in the passages from Hosea 4-11 that show God lovingly—but fervently—confronting and disciplining his people because of their unfaithfulness and rebellion, and what this can say to us now.

[1] Early on Sunday morning, a as the new day was dawning, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went out to visit the tomb. [2] Suddenly there was a great earthquake! For an angel of the Lord came down from heaven, rolled aside the stone, and sat on it. [3] His face shone like lightning, and his clothing was as white as snow. [4] The guards shook with fear when they saw him, and they fell into a dead faint. [5] Then the angel spoke to the women. "Don't be afraid!" he said. This week, we begin a new series on the Old Testament prophetic book of Hosea.

As we’ve done before, we’ll start by looking at the historical setting—what was happening with Israel and Judah—so we understand why the book of Hosea was necessary. This week we’ll be quickly scanning 2 Kings 15:8-38, and studying 2 Chronicles 28.

We’re meeting on SUNDAY evening at 5:30 this weekend, due to a scheduling conflict outside of our control.
