Bitterness is like a deadly poison—it changes the way we see and handle everything…even when we don’t realize it!
In Ruth 1, Naomi's bitterness distorted her reality. She could no longer see God's faithfulness and provision through her pain.
In 1 Samuel, Saul's bitterness toward David clouded his judgment, leading him to make destructive decisions.
And Hebrews 12:15 warns that a "root of bitterness" can not only defile us but also damages our relationships with God and others.
That's why Paul writes in Ephesians 4:31-32: "Let all bitterness... be put away from you... And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you."
Bitterness distorts your reality, impairs your judgment, and breaks your relationships.
Forgiveness doesn't change the past, but it frees your heart to see God's grace clearly and walk in His peace.
