Some Things To Consider

We live in a society where testing or periods of examination are both common and expected. We are all tested in a wide variety of ways, and for the most part these periods of testing are for our own benefit whether we recognize it at the time or not. As Christians we need to occasionally administer a test or examination to ourselves to see how well we are developing in Christ.

Sin destroys natural feelings, sensitivity, and tenderness. Love on the other hand enhances them. Which would you rather be doing? The choice is always yours.
Home life is an important factor in shaping character and social attitudes. Thus make sure that your home is built on Christian principles.

DEATH IS NOT PUNISHMENT

All living things face the possibility of death.
From the moment of their individual conception;
This of course is a well known universal truth,
And as we all know there is no exception.
For most people death is a rather taboo subject,
That we do not want to think about or mention;
It causes a multitude of people to feel ill at ease,
When it is discussed one can feel the tension.
When in conversations with a group of friends,
We discuss our concerns, or something funny;
We generally stay away from darker subjects,
Like death, politics, or who makes the most money.
Most people today are far too busy living life,
To be concerned about their approaching death;
And if the subject should somehow cross their mind,
They cannot image their body not having breath.
The fact that people refuse to think about death,
In no way hinders that event from taking place;
For all of us will sometime in the distant future,
The eternal judgment of God have to face.
Death should not be construed as punishment,
The Bible makes this great truth clearly known;
All mankind must go through the process of death,
Before we can see God’s glory on His throne.
So while you are busy enjoying your physical life,
Make preparations for it to one day end;
Studying the scriptures and obeying God’s commands,
Becoming Jesus’ brother, servant, and friend.

Some Things To Consider

Sin is always destructive no matter what form it comes in, or to what degree it is engaged in. The best life is to avoid all sin, and to repent quickly on those occasions when we do not.
Brethren take note, we must never accept as truth anything that is in contradiction to the plain and simple teachings found in God’s Word.
Because only the obedient followers of Christ will be admitted into heaven, let us strive with all our being to learn, to accept, and to obey His will.

I AM A DEBTOR

Our physical life is a great blessing,
That comes with an abundance of joy;
It makes no difference what gender you are,
A city living girl or a wild country boy.
God blesses our days with radiant sunlight,
So the beauty of the world we can see;
From the beautiful birds that float in the sky,
Or the shelter they find in a tall green tree.
We are blessed with great physical strength,
Which allows us many things to achieve;
We have doctors and medicines available,
All our aches and pains to quickly relieve.
Our stores are full of food and commercial goods,
In an abundant and overflowing supply;
We are free to achieve tremendous success,
If we will set a course and our strength apply.
God always watches over and protects us,
As we go about daily living our physical life;
In His word He gives us advice and guidance,
On how to handle adversity and strife.
In life as we overcome obstacles and trials,
Great joy in our hearts does surely abound;
We experience a sense of peace and contentment,
That to the casual observer is truly profound.
Our physical life is a wondrous great blessing,
Whereas our eternal life will be even better;
But eternal life will only be ours to enjoy,
When in physical life we live as a world debtor.

Some Things To Consider

Our lives will be even more enriched and blessed when we learn to apply God’s divine principles for Christian living daily in our lives.

If we are to live and be pleasing to God we must live in unison and humbly obedient to God’s revealed will. This is a necessity and believe me man cannot afford to live contrary to this great truth.

A faith based upon feelings dies when the feelings change. A faith based on the Word of God is secure, because God’s Word does not change. The Christian faith comes by hearing, hearing the Word of God (Rom. 10:17).
