Discouragement and Sadness Have No Rights in You

When we get discouraged and our heart is sad, it’s time to put our hope in God. How we deal with discouragement and a sad heart is by invoking our will to seek out God. He inhabits the praises of His people (Psalm 22:3). As we give God praise and worship He comes on the scene of our problems and helps them dissolve. The Lord is our strength and our shield (Psalm 28:7). When our hearts trust in Him we are blessed and fear which is a doorway for discouragement and sadness, will flee from us. Our daily fellowship with the Lord through prayer, praise, and study of God’s word delivers us from all the works of demonic influence, which includes discouragement and sadness. The only thing consistent enough to rid us of these negative qualities is the presence of the Lord in our lives.

There’s Power in Our Weakness

When we are weak then are we strong. It’s a matter of us decreasing so Christ can increase. As long as we’re doing all the thinking and not consulting with the Lord first, the best outcome may not happen for your situation. To acknowledge the Lord in all our ways and leaning not to our own understanding gives God the opportunity to direct in the path we should go (Proverbs 3:6). Having the Holy Spirit and not utilizing His ability to see the future for our lives is a wasted opportunity for success in life. He will never override our free will, we must be still and know He is God (Psalm 46:10). Our weaknesses and infirmities are the doorway to releasing God’s strength in us. When our flesh has the ascendancy in our lives, our spirit man where the Holy Spirit dwells in us, has no say so with our decisions and choices. Paul said, I will glory in my infirmities so the power of God can rest on me. God’s grace is sufficient for total victory in this life. When you are weak, then are you strong in the Lord and in the power of His might (Ephesians 6:10).

Man Up!

We must learn to do right, seek justice, relieve the oppressed, and correct the oppressor. Once we learn for ourselves the ways of God, then we can minister truth. It is so much more freeing knowing you don’t have to keep looking over your shoulder from time to time knowing you’ve done something that brings bad consequences. Walk in truth and be honest concerning everything, even things that may incriminate you because you messed up. Man up when you miss the mark and own your mistakes. Nobody is perfect and smart people know making mistakes is apart of being human. Other than that you’ll be in pride always covering up your mistakes trying to make yourself look perfect, you’re not! For all have fallen short of the glory of God and His righteousness (Romans 3:23). Always try to do the right thing in life. Seek justice not escape, help relieve the oppressed and correct the oppressor when necessary. Man up!

Are You Bearing Fruit? What’s That?

If you’re not bearing fruit, you are at risk of being taken away. If you are bearing fruit, the Lord cuts away, trims off, and He cleanses and repeatedly prunes every branch that continues to bear fruit. Pruning is far from enjoyable but necessary. We must be in purpose in this life, useful for lifelong service to God. We are the branches, Jesus is the vine, and Father God is the husbandman, the keeper and sustainer of it all (John 15:1). We get our spiritual nutrition as branches, from the vine, which is connected to the trunk of the tree, God. When we the branches stop producing fruit, (sharing the gospel with results) we become useless like the fig tree Jesus cursed, because it did not bear any fig’s, fruit (Mark 11:19-20). Every living thing was created with a purpose. The pruning is for the production of more fruit, more souls coming to Christ. So be fruitful and multiply for the kingdom of God.

The Fear of God Brings Victorious Living

The reverential fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. It’s smart to have reverential fear of God. This keeps us in an attitude of great respect and honor for His way of living. We want to be a step ahead of our enemies and not yield to our own understanding in times of trouble (Proverbs 3:5-6). The fear of God keeps us in the secret place of the Most High, under the shadow of the All Mighty (Psalm 91). Having reverential fear of God means we’re humble enough to not be reactionary to offense. Having knowledge of the Holy One is insight and understanding. When you understand why a person is being extra against you, and it has nothing to do with you directly, it’s easier to bear it. Wisdom helps us live above the evil in this world. So fear the Lord so wisdom can talk to you, and understanding can have its way through knowledge.

What Have You Given Lately?

God loves a cheerful giver. He prizes above all else and is unwilling to abandon or to do without a cheerful, prompt to do it giver whose heart is in his giving. To give grudgingly or of necessity is a fruitless harvest. It is truly better to give than to receive (Acts 20:35). The feeling we get after giving someone something they either really needed or were desirous of for a long time is a blessing beyond words. As we give (whatever was given), it will be given again back to you based on the law of reciprocity. Luke 6:38 says; give and it shall be given again unto you good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over shall men give to you. This is God’s financial plan for Kingdom living and prosperity in our lives today. It’s a spiritual principle that works by faith in believing God’s word.

Let Humility Lead You, Being Reactionary Brings Trouble

The Bible says let the same mind of humility be in you as it is in Christ Jesus. When Jesus walked the earth He had the power and ability to call down legions of Angels to help Him (Matthew 26:53) but, He would have been out of the Father’s will for His earthly assignment (Matthew 26:39). Having the wherewithal to do something offensive and aggressive but not doing it because you want love in the forefront of your life and ministry, is God’s way. The Lord’s command to us is to be humble minded like Jesus was when He dealt with the struggles of life, and people with bad intentions. He could take them out but where would our salvation be if He did. Jesus completed His assignment from God before leaving earth with humility based on love, agape love, the God kind. That same love is in us ready to be developed and demonstrated in all we do. Let this mind be in you which was in Christ Jesus (Philippians 2:5-11).

He Refreshes My Soul

Only God can refresh your soul. He made it and knows how to maintain it for us. This means we must be close enough to the Lord that we have a relationship and fellowship with Him daily. For the benefits of God to rub off on us we must spend some quality time with Him regularly. Once we start feeling down or disconnected to life In general, it’s past time to get with the Lord. Singing songs of praise to God brings the presence of God on the scene (Psalms 22:3). He deposits His peace during this time of worship and helps relieve daily stress through praising Him. He inhabits the praises of His people which means in that moment He releases everything we need to restore our souls. A refreshed soul has new beginnings in it with favorable expectations for going forward with confidence, and victorious living.

The Deeper Dimension

“And when they had prayed, the place in which they were assembled was shaken”. This verse speaks volumes about our prayer life. In this verse the people of God were together for one purpose which was to receive the indwelling of the Holy Spirit and to speak in tongues, the language of the Angels. This indwelling of God’s Spirit brings with it a deeper dimension of God in our lives. Place shaking dimension; to move mountains of trouble from us or the power to go through it. The boldness and freedom to speak God’s word to others gets intensified. Praying in tongues or in the spirit is praying God’s perfect will back to Him. Breaking down doors of opposition and opening doors of opportunity that may not have opened. The gift of the Holy Spirit is freely given to any Christian that asks God for it. It’s not spooky, nor has praying in tongues passed away as some teach. Get that deeper dimension of the Lord in your life now, you need it more than you know.
