NOT EVERYONE IS GOING TO HEAVEN
Matthew 7:13–14 | Proverbs 14:12

Jesus spoke of two roads, two gates, and two destinations. One way is broad, popular, and easy to follow—but it leads to destruction. The other is narrow, and few find it—but it leads to life.

“Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:” — Matthew 7:13 KJV

TODAY’S MESSAGE — “NOT EVERYONE IS GOING TO HEAVEN”

1. There Are Two Roads
There is a way that seems right to man, but popularity does not determine truth. We must make sure we are on the right road.
Proverbs 14:12

2. Good People Still Need to Be Saved
Salvation is not earned by being good. We have all sinned and come short of the glory of God, and every person must be born again.
Romans 3:23 | John 3:7

3. Religion Is Not Salvation
Church membership, baptism, giving, and religious activity cannot save us. Salvation is found in Jesus Christ.

4. Anyone Can Be Saved Through Jesus Christ
No one can save themselves—but anyone can be saved through Christ.
Romans 10:13

5. False Teaching Has Eternal Consequences
We must test every message against the Word of God rather than simply accepting what sounds good.
Matthew 7:15–20 | Galatians 1:8

THE QUESTION WE ALL MUST ANSWER

The greatest question is not simply, “Do I believe in Heaven?”

The greater question is: “Do I know I am going there?”

The Bible gives us this wonderful assurance:

“These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life...” — 1 John 5:13 KJV

Our confidence is not in being a good person, belonging to a church, being baptized, or performing religious works. Our confidence must be in Jesus Christ.

If you don't know Christ as your Savior, don't allow another day to pass without settling that question.

And Christian, today's message should challenge us too. If there really are only two roads and eternity really is at stake, then the Gospel cannot become ordinary to us. There are people around us every day who need to hear about Jesus. May God give us the courage, compassion, and urgency to point others toward the narrow way that leads to life.

⛪ SUNDAY SERVICE RECAP | EASTGATE BAPTIST CHURCH | Cincinnati, Ohio

🔥 DARE TO BE EXCEPTIONAL

This Sunday, Pastor Dan challenged us with a powerful question:

Are we willing to settle for average—or will we dare to have an excellent spirit?

Our message centered on Philippians 1:6–11, where Paul prayed that believers would grow in love, wisdom, and understanding so they could recognize and pursue the things that are excellent.

Pastor Dan reminded us that exceptionalism isn't about being better than everyone else. It's about becoming everything God intends us to be.

💡 FOUR CHALLENGES FROM THE MESSAGE

1️⃣ Don't let your environment determine your character.
Daniel lived in Babylon, but Babylon didn't live in Daniel. He purposed in his heart to remain faithful to God.

2️⃣ Do more than what is required.
Instead of asking, “What do I have to do?” ask, “What can I do?” Exceptional people look for opportunities to go the extra mile.
3️⃣ Be willing to do what others are afraid to do.
David saw Goliath, but he also saw the size of his God. Exceptional faith doesn't mean we never feel fear—it means our faith is greater than the fear we face.

4️⃣ Keep going when others quit.
God is looking for people who will remain faithful and keep moving forward when the excitement fades and the road gets difficult.

🙏 THE CHALLENGE

Excellence starts with the little things.

In our homes.
In our marriages.
At our jobs.
In our ministry.
In our relationships.
In our prayer lives.
In our service to others.

Pastor Dan reminded us:

“Average looks for the minimum. Exceptionalism looks for the opportunity.”

And perhaps the greatest challenge of all:

What have you been avoiding because you're afraid?

Sometimes the thing we fear is standing between us and the next chapter God has for our lives.

Let's not settle for average.

Let's live with faith, character, commitment, and an excellent spirit—not so people will look at us and say, “Look how great we are,” but so they can look at our lives and see what God is doing through us.

❤️ Dare to be exceptional.
🔥 Dare to go the extra mile.
🙏 Dare to trust God.
✝️ Dare to live for Christ.
