These hot August days remind us of our busy summer! Friends marched for the first time in recent memory in the Cincinnati Pride parade this past June! 🏳️‍🌈

Please mark your calendars, Friends, and join us for this fundraising concert for three organizations that provide crucial support for refugees and immigrants in this time of utmost cruelty against them. I'll be sharing a song based on the words of theologian Martin Niemöller, who was sent to a concentration camp for opposing the N**i regime, and also will lead the audience in a song from the Singing Resistance community. Hope you can make it!!

So excited to see our very own Shannon Issacs is going to be a plenary speaker! We’re so proud of her and excited for those attending to hear her speak!

The 2026 FGC Outreach Conference is happening virtually from September 25 through September 27 - and you're invited! Join Friends from across North America to learn about what's working in outreach, visibility, and communications in Quaker meetings.

The plenary speakers are Geniro Di**le, an inclusion leader, and Dr. Khalila Lomax, former STRIDE Coordinator for Baltimore Yearly Meeting, who will be presenting Beloved Community: Mind, Body, & Meeting; and Shannon Isaacs, of Community Friends Meeting - Quakers, in Ohio Valley Yearly Meeting), facilitating the plenary Changemaking: Listening for Spirit and Revitalization Ministry.

Workshop leaders will be Naveed Moeed of Chapel Hill Friends Meeting, Melinda Wenner Bradley of Faith & Play Stories, Jade Rockwell of Quaker Connect of Friends World Committee for Consultation Section of the Americas, and alicia nance of FGC.

Please consider joining me online this Thursday, July 16th, for the next session of "Embodying Spiritual Wisdom through Chant" with Friends from Great Britain! We will be singing a mixture of mostly original chants, composed from Quaker writings as well as poets like John O'Donohue. We sing together, albeit with mics muted over Zoom, adding our voices to the others I've recorded with mine. Our time will include pauses for silent reflection and worship sharing. Past participants have expressed much enthusiasm; a recent comment is typical: "It's fascinating how this can really work on zoom - and be moving and powerful." Hoping to see you there!

Dear Friends,
Our meeting has been supportive over the last few years of the efforts of Save Ohio Parks to stop the fracking operations on our public lands and parks, which are being promoted by our legislature. (Just last week, the Ohio Gas and Land Commission voted to frack 15,000 more acres!). Much of this push for shale oil is to fuel the huge number (and size) of data centers being built in Ohio. We have an opportunity next Wednesday at noon to show up and speak out at WVXU's "Cincinnati Edition" live broadcast at the Public Radio Building on nearby Dana Avenue Please consider registering for this public event, and demonstrate your opposition to these data centers that are so outrageously destructive to the land, water and air!

New stickers are in!

Our Outreach Committee has been reviewing and refining a few stickers which serve as visual reminders of our values as fun conversation starters for those who don’t know about Quakers!

Stickers will be available this Sunday at the Meeting House! Just in time for MfBwAtW 😉
