Last Sunday our extended family came into town for a visit. They will be at Salem tomorrow before heading back home. We will be wearing white shirts, I hope I have one, and the twins put in their request which hymns they like to hear back in May.

Come on down tomorrow to see our extended church family before they head back home.

Work is still progressing. The first and third pictures show the before, the second and fourth pictures show after the work was completed.

These two areas are the most noticeable than the rest of the work.

Inch by inch, it's a sinch, yard by yard is hard. We keep moving on the restoration project as the money comes in my God's angels.

We are gearing up for our 170th Anniversary in 2027!

We will kick off our 170th Celebration on October 21, 2026. Stay tuned for more updates and other events.

Work is continuing on the North side of the church. Please pray for the workers that are up over 100 feet working on the chimney.

If you have been by Salem this past week and notice the scaffolding going up, we are having the North wall of our sanctuary building tucked pointed. This building's foundation walls were installed in 1864. Due to the civil war the constitution was stopped until the cost of materials decreased. 1867 the construction started again and it was finished, May 1868.

2027 Salem will be celebrating 170 years. It's been through God's grace, His mercy, and sending angels to supply the church's needs to continue.

More will follow as we are gearing up to Celebrate Together the 170th anniversary of Salem!

We will share more as we continue to make plans.

Next on the agenda is to get the repairs completed on the tower that has adorned the skyline in OTR for 159 years.

From your church family at Salem United Church of Christ to you we had a very blessed Easter morning service and in one accord celebrating our risen Savior! The spirit that raised Jesus on the 3rd day is here among us today that we can live a life of new with our great God. The chains have been broken and the temple vail was ripped in two that we have a direct communication to a God of love!

Lives again our glorious King, Alleluia!
Where, O death, is now thy sting? Alleluia!
Once he died our souls to save, Alleluia!
Where's thy victory, boasting grave? Alleluia!

Soar we now where Christ has led, Alleluia!
Following our exalted Head, Alleluia!
Made like him, like him we rise, Alleluia!
