Our beloved Jacqueline Morin passed from this earthly life to eternal life on this day nine years ago: June 5, 2017. Inspired by the Second Vatican Council, Jacqueline planted the Company of St. Ursula in North America in 1967. She had passed from the Ursulines of Rimouski, Canada, to the Company of St. Ursula of Brescia, Italy, who gave her a mandate to begin the Company in Canada.
Jacqueline guided and mentored those whom God called to the Company. Her lively spirit and devotion to St. Angela, our foundress (1535), were contagious. She served our international Federation as a Council member.
Zealous to spread the good news of secular consecration, Jacqueline centered the new Company in Quebec but opened its doors to women from Toronto. They eventually developed into a new Company of Toronto. Out of Toronto sprang a group in the Philippines. She welcomed Americans, who now form a substantial part of the Company. Her multilingual gifts allowed her to deal directly with those speaking French, English and Italian.
