Today, our friend Eddie James Ministries came to the house and worshiped with us, and somewhere along the way, the plans changed. We made room for what God was doing and stayed right there.

Sometimes the most important thing we can do is recognize when God is moving and get out of the way.

There’s a difference between judging someone’s fruit and judging who they are.

We’re called to pay attention to what’s being preached, what’s being taught, and the fruit being produced. But deciding the worth, heart, or identity of a person? That seat belongs to God.

Sometimes the people we love aren’t producing the fruit of the Spirit in a particular moment. That doesn’t make them a bad person — it means there may be something God wants to work on.

Judge the fruit. Not the person.

The glory of God filled the room, and there was nothing else left to do but hear the Word of God.

We cut the rest of the service flow and prepared to go straight into the message… but right before the Word was preached, this freshly written song arose in the room:

“All the ways You’ve made, all the doors You’ve opened for me… I am so amazed, You’ve been so, so good.”
What a moment. He has been SO GOOD.

We can’t wait for you to hear the whole song!

There’s just something about Sundays at The Well. 💜

From worship to the Word to simply being together, today was another reminder of what happens when we make room for God and for each other.

We’re grateful for every person who walked through the doors, every conversation, every prayer, and every moment in His presence.

The Word of God wasn’t given to us as a weapon to point at everybody else. It was given to teach us, correct us, and show us where we need to grow.

If we can read Scripture and only see what everybody else needs to fix, we might be missing what God is trying to show us about ourselves.

2 Timothy 3:16 reminds us that Scripture teaches us what is true, reveals what is wrong in our lives, corrects us, and teaches us to do what is right.

Before we point the finger, there’s a question worth asking:

What is the Word showing me about me?

Sometimes we can be doing the right thing with the wrong expectations attached to it.

An open hand says, “God, I’ll do what You called me to do. What happens after that is in Your hands.”

But when our giving, serving, helping or loving comes with an expectation of how someone should respond, disappointment can quickly turn into resentment.

God isn’t only concerned with what we do. He cares about why we do it.

So here’s the question: Are you giving with a closed fist or an open one?
