Day of Pentecost Celebration Foundation
Letter from President Urshan
April 24, 2020
Apostolic Greetings to the Day of Pentecost Celebration Foundation!
It is our hope and confidence that The God of all grace has kept you in this unprecedented hour. Not in recent history has the world witnessed anything quite like what has unfolded in the last couple of months. Our hearts and prayers remain with those whose lives have been so deeply impacted by the spread of COVID-19. There have been many ways this calamity has affected our world. Let us remain vigilant to intercede in prayer for those who are suffering and whose families need provision from The Lord.
All the earth has come face-to-face with the realities of our human frailty and our ever-present need for a Savior. It is time for The Church to assume it’s long-ordained role as the light of the world, the salt of the earth, and the city set on a hill that cannot be hid. As a result of the physical distancing mandates required by the state of Ohio through the months of March, April, and May, we have been unable to facilitate the necessary planning and ex*****on of a Service on Pentecost Sunday. Therefore, we are rescheduling 2020 Pentecost services until 2021. We will be conducting various services for the community as COVID-19 guidelines permit.
While the act of physically gathering on Pentecost Sunday has by necessity been placed on hold until Pentecost Sunday of 2021, Pentecost itself, is alive and well. Lost souls are seeking God like never before, backsliders are returning home, and saints are praying with one mind and one accord. This is not a time for retreat, it is a time for revival. Cincinnati is poised to see God move in an unprecedented fashion.
In lieu of collecting funds for registration for Pentecost Sunday, The Day of Pentecost Celebration Foundation is establishing a Relief Fund for churches within our network that have come under financial duress in the midst of this crisis. The details as to making donations or receiving assistance from the Relief Fund will be forthcoming, and we are asking all who are able and willing to invest in the strengthening of the Apostolic Churches of Cincinnati. It is our belief that together we can become stronger than ever as we emerge from this unusual season of quarantine.
May God bless you richly! We look forward to partnering with you for the furtherance of the gospel, in this great city, to which each of us has been called as a laborer in these last days.
In Service for The Lord,
Pastor Joel Urshan
