Thank you so much for your partnership and for sending such an incredible team to serve alongside us today! We are grateful for each volunteer who gave their time, energy, and love to make this day so special for the children and families of Norwood.

It was a joy to see the Gospel shared, friendships formed, and seeds of faith planted. We appreciate your prayers and ask that you continue to pray that God would draw these children and their families to Himself and use River City Church to continue reaching our community with the hope of Christ.

We are thankful to serve together for the Kingdom!

Day 4 — “The Garden Battle”

Before the cross… there was a garden.

Jesus is in Gethsemane—overwhelmed, sweating drops like blood, praying.

Scripture: Luke 22:42 (ESV)
“Father, if you are willing, remove this cup from me. Nevertheless, not my will, but yours, be done.”

This is where the real battle happens.

Not at the cross—but before it.

In surrender.

Jesus shows us something powerful:
obedience doesn’t mean it’s easy—it means it’s right.

And sometimes the hardest prayers are the holiest ones:
“Not my will… but Yours.”

Prayer:
Father, help me trust You even when it’s hard. Give me the courage to surrender what I want for what You know is best. Amen.

Day 3 — “The Betrayal We Don’t Talk About”

As the cross gets closer, the tension rises.

Judas—one of Jesus’ own—decides to betray Him.

Scripture: Luke 22:48 (ESV)
“Judas, would you betray the Son of Man with a kiss?”

A kiss—something meant for love—used as betrayal.

But before we judge Judas too quickly…
we need to look inward.

Because betrayal doesn’t always look like leaving Jesus.
Sometimes it looks like pretending to follow Him… while our hearts are somewhere else.

It’s possible to be near Jesus—and still far from Him.

Prayer:
Jesus, search my heart. Expose anything in me that is not fully surrendered to You. I don’t want to just look close to You—I want to truly know You. Amen.

Day 2 — “When Worship Gets Costly”

Script:

As Easter gets closer, the moments get more intense.

In one scene, a woman breaks open an expensive jar of perfume and pours it on Jesus. It’s extravagant. It’s emotional. It’s misunderstood.

Scripture: Mark 14:3 (ESV)
“She broke the flask and poured it over his head.”

Some criticized her. Said it was wasteful.

But Jesus said it was beautiful.

Because real worship always costs something.

It costs pride.
It costs control.
Sometimes it costs what others think about you.

But when you truly see Jesus—what He’s about to do on the cross—worship becomes worth it.

Prayer:
Lord, teach me to worship You without holding back. Even when it’s uncomfortable. Even when it costs me something. Amen.
