Colossians 3:23–24 tells us..
“Whatever you do, work at it with your whole being, as for the Lord and not for men, because you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as your reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.”
The work may feel ordinary. The opportunity to honor God is real.
Another load of laundry. Another email. Another meal to prepare. Another task that needs doing, even though nobody seems to notice.
It can be hard to give our best when we feel tired, overlooked, or unappreciated. We may catch ourselves thinking, “Why bother if nobody cares?”
But this Scripture gives our work a deeper purpose: through the responsibilities before us, we can serve Christ.
That changes how we approach the task—and how we treat the people involved. We can choose care over carelessness, honesty over shortcuts, and patience when frustration would come more naturally.
God sees the effort others miss. You don’t have to do everything perfectly to honor Him. You can offer Him a willing heart and faithful effort in the work before you.
Today’s faithful step: Choose one task you usually rush through or resent. Give it your full attention, and ask God to help you approach it with care and a willing spirit.
“Lord, help me honor You in my everyday responsibilities. When I feel unseen or unappreciated, remind me that I am serving You.”
