Mobile Feeding Units known as "canteens" are a familiar sight to firefighters, police and victims alike, serving hot and cold drinks, snacks and complete meals.

Winter Storm Fern is expected to bring heavy snow, strong winds, and dangerous cold beginning Friday across Ohio and Northern Kentucky.

Forecasts from the National Weather Service show the potential for 4–6 inches of snow in the Greater Cincinnati region, with hazardous travel and wind chills dipping below zero.

As this system moves into our area, please take steps to stay safe:
🔹 Be alert — Follow updates from NWS Wilmington, Ohio EMA, and Kentucky Emergency Management.

🔹 Stay home if you can — Snow, ice, and freezing drizzle may create dangerous road conditions.

🔹 Check on your neighbors — Especially older adults, those with disabilities, and anyone who may need extra help.

🔹 Prepare now — Charge devices, gather blankets, stock up on essentials, and keep a flashlight handy.

🔹 Avoid travel during the height of the storm unless absolutely necessary; major disruptions are expected.

Let’s look out for one another and stay safe throughout this winter storm. ❄️🏠❤️

The Salvation Army prayerfully urges our faithful communities and supporters to continue to share hope.

We’re collecting food pantry dontions and financial gifts, online or in person. Together we can bridge the gap for families who may have to find ways to put food on the table and keep a roof over their heads without the critical assistance of SNAP benefits.

Thank you for making a gift of support today so all our locations can be ready to meet the needs now and in the days to come.
