An evening of Eucharistic Adoration, Praise and Worship, was held for the Riverview Catholics Family of Parishes at St. Rose Church on Riverside Drive. The Sacrament of Reconciliation was available throughout the evening. Parishioners sang worship music led by Carl Jakubowske, and attendees offered roses at the Communion rail as a gesture of devotion and prayer. Pictures provided by Madeline Daley.

Congratulations to Fr. Tom Fitzsimmons, resident priest at St. Stephen Parish for 64 years of ordained ministry. On August 15, 1962 Archbishop Karl Alter ordained Fr. Tom to the priesthood.

And these last 768 months and roughly 23,368 days ago, Father Tom continues to be a faithful Witness, a prayer and a blessing for us all, and inspiration and source of comfort and the realization that God is good and faithful to all who call upon Him.

Father Tom's witness to the service for the people of God is both humbling and remarkable, not to mention he continues to serve with a Shepherd's Heart.

SSC VOLUNTEERS SERVE MEALS IN OTR
Christ’s presence through community

St. Stephen Church parishioners, helped serve meals to the homeless and working poor in Over-the-Rhine at the St. Francis Seraph (SFS) dinner service on July 9th. Volunteers staffed the serving line, dish room, and bussed tables.

SFS serves breakfast and dinner providing hundreds of meals each weekday. There are many ways to support this worthy ministry. For more information, see: https://sfsministries.org/

SSC volunteers serve meals at SFS on the 2nd Thursday of the month in a 3:30 to 6PM shift. Free parking is available as is carpooling from the church. Stay tuned to the weekly bulletin for sign up details.

St. Stephen Parish mourns the passing of our dear friend John “Jack” O’Brien, who entered eternal life on June 24 at the age of 91. Jack was a faithful member of our parish since the 1980's and a steady, joyful presence in our community. Over the years he served as a lector, sacristan, coordinator of servers and Eucharistic Ministers, and a generous volunteer in countless ways—from helping in the parish office to bringing Communion to the homebound. His quiet dedication, deep faith, and genuine kindness touched everyone who had the blessing of knowing him.

Jack now rejoins his beloved wife Nancy, and leaves behind a large and loving family who carry forward his legacy of faith and service. Visitation and Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Stephen on Wednesday, July 1, beginning at 10:30 A.M and Mass at Noon, with interment at Mt. Moriah Cemetery. We give thanks to God for Jack’s life, his friendship, and his many years of devoted service. May he rest in the peace of Christ.
