Marianist Social Justice Collaborative

Marianist Social Justice Collaborative Unifying and Multiplying the efforts of Lay and Religious Marianists, Marianist institutions, and Marianist communities to act for social justice.

MSJC began in 1998 to educate the Marianist Family about social justice, to help Marianist Family members network around common social justice concerns, and to provide community reflection and support for Marianists to do the work of justice.

Join local Dayton Marianists, and other Catholics, on THIS Friday, May 8 from 12–1 p.m. for a public witness calling for investment in people and communities. Together, we’ll lift up the need to fund social services like SNAP and Medicaid instead of systems that perpetuate violence and injustice.

Organized in part by the Sisters of the Precious Blood and local Dayton partners, this gathering will include brief remarks, prayerful presence, and a shared commitment to peace and justice.

We invite members of the Marianist family and beyond to stand in solidarity, promote this event, and show up. Bring signs of peace and hope. All are welcome!

Meet Jen Morin-Williamson one of our wonderful LGBTQ+ Volunteers. Jen Is encouraged by the leadership of Pope Leo and the strong witness of the USCCB in areas like immigration. She is hopeful and patient- not expecting all the change she hopes to see unfold in her lifetime. But that doesn’t stop her from believing meaningful movement is possible. In a thoughtful review for New Ways Ministry, MSJC LGBTQ+ Initiative volunteer Bradley Leger reflects on the book: Why I Remain a Gay Catholic: A Spiritual-Sexual Journey by Paul F. Morrissey. Bradley highlights Fr. Morrissey’s honest account of living as a gay Augustinian priest committed to both his faith and his full identity. The review underscores themes of vocation, integrity, and hope—offering a powerful witness for LGBTQ+ Catholics who continue to love and serve the Church while seeking authenticity and belonging.
