Quarrysite International Ministry -QIM- Ministry with the mission of shaping the youth to STAND IN THE GAP for their Homes, Families, Communities, Churches and Countries

Quarrysite International Ministry (QIM) is a Non-denominational community of Believers, established purposely to Love, to Share, to Equip and to Reach the world through Christ Jesus our Lord. The name “Quarrysite” is coined from two Biblical verses of 1Kings 6:7 (And the house, when it was in building, was built of stone made ready at the quarrysite before it was brought thither: so that there was

neither hammer nor axe nor any tool of iron heard in the house, while it was in building) and Isaiah 51:1 (Hearken to me, ye that follow after righteousness, ye that seek the LORD: look unto the rock whence ye are hewn, and to the quarrysite whence ye are digged). We believe Quarrysite to be a place where we will be perfected, be shaped and be molded to fit in the gap which the Lord Jesus wants us to fit into (1Kings). It’s that place which we were hewn and digged (Isaiaih), a place where we need to look back to and remember our maker, for there He shaped us for a specified task of building His kingdom here on Earth.

DON'T ALLOW FEAR STOPS YOU FROM GROWING.

Many of the people scolded him and told him to be quiet. But he shouted even more loudly, ‘Son of David, have mercy on me!’”

Mark 10:48 (GNT)

If you’re going to make a fresh start with faith in your life, you need to face your fears. Don’t let them control you! Fear has an incredible ability to paralyze our potential—to keep us from launching out and having faith in our lives.

When we choose fear over faith, it makes us skeptical—we’re afraid of trying anything new. It makes us selfish—we’re afraid to commit to God and to others. It makes us short-sighted—we focus on the past and not on the future.

A man named Bartimaeus faced a fear that is familiar to many of us: the fear of rejection. He was blind and wanted to be healed. He knew that to shout out to Jesus over the crowd wasn’t the right thing to do. He knew that people would look down on him for it, but he was desperate. And he knew that Jesus Christ was the only one who could help him.

So he got Jesus’ attention. The Bible says, “Many of the people scolded him and told him to be quiet. But he shouted even more loudly, ‘Son of David, have mercy on me!’” (Mark 10:48 GNT).

And look what happened: When he shouted out to Jesus, everyone around him told him, “Don’t do that. Be quiet. Don’t make a scene. Surely Jesus Christ isn’t interested in you. He has more important things to do.”

The devil whispers things like that to a lot of us. When an opportunity for faith comes into our hearts, thoughts like, “God surely wouldn’t be interested in me” or “Don’t make a scene” or “What would people think of me?” keep us from having faith. When you see an opportunity to change, there are all kinds of shouts from inside and around you that tell you not to rock the boat.

But God is asking you to do something greater than you’ve ever done before: He’s asking you to depend on him completely. Don’t you think that’s going to feel a little bit scary? Of course it is.

When God asks something of you, you have a choice. Are you going to fall back on your fear and stay the way you are? Or are you going to tame your fear and step forward in faith?

LOVING THE UNLOVING

(Monday, 21st February 2022)

Scripture Reading: Matthew 5:43-48

“You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.”

Matthew 5:43-44

We often think of enemies in connection with war: enemies live in other countries and on other continents.

But Jesus is focusing much closer to home: the neighbor who throws loud all-night parties, the uncle who is abusive, the kid who bullies your little brother. We are angry with them. We would like to see them corrected, perhaps even punished!

And yet Jesus tells us to love them! That doesn’t necessarily mean feeling good about them or the bad things they do. I love my daughters, and it is good to spend time with them. But that’s not what Jesus means here. The love word he uses suggests action; Jesus is telling us to act in a loving way toward people who are difficult to love.

Jesus even tells us to pray for them. We can talk with God about them and ask God to guide and bless them. We can confess our fears and our anger. We can ask God to show us the image of God in them. We can ask for insight into why they might act as they do.

God does not expect us to make friends with people who disrespect us, or to tolerate abuse from them. But as we faithfully pray for them, God will help us think compassionately about them, and begin to act kindly toward them, and even learn to speak truth to them with love and respect.

PRAYER:

Dear Lord, help us to love and pray for neighbors who are not loving, and who perhaps are even mean to us. May they see your love through our kind words and actions in Jesus Name

AMEN

DON'T JUST TALK, LISTEN

2 CHRONICLES 20:15

“Do not be afraid! Don’t be discouraged by this mighty army, for the battle is not yours, but God’s."

Prayer is a conversation, not a monologue. When you pray, don’t do all the talking! You can’t build a friendship with God if you don’t let him talk to you.

How do you let God talk to you? Through the Bible. Everything God wants to say to you, is already in his Word. People are always looking for some sign, thinking “I wish God would tell me what he wants me to do. I wish he would write it in the sky.” God is not going to write his will in the sky because he’s already written it in a Book!

Stop looking for a sign, and start looking at Scripture. Stop looking for a vision, and start looking for a verse. God’s will is in God’s Word. The more you read his Book, the more you’re going to know what to do.

King Jehoshaphat was facing three enemy armies that teamed up and advanced against him and Israel. Israel knew they didn’t have the strength to fight them. They knew that, in their own power, they would be defeated. So they prayed for help. This is what God said to them through one of his people:

“‘Do not be afraid! Don’t be discouraged by this mighty army, for the battle is not yours, but God’s . . . You will not even need to fight. Take your positions; then stand still and watch the LORD’s victory. He is with you, O people of Judah and Jerusalem. Do not be afraid or discouraged. Go out against them tomorrow, for the LORD is with you!’ Then King Jehoshaphat bowed low with his face to the ground. And all the people of Judah and Jerusalem did the same, worshiping the LORD” (2 Chronicles 20:15-18 NLT).

Imagine an entire nation getting on the ground, bowing down on their knees, and worshiping God because he told them, “I’m going to take care of it.”

When you pray a breakthrough prayer of surrender like Jehoshaphat did, God will say the same thing to you. So don’t be afraid or discouraged! It’s God’s battle, and he’ll handle it. Keep serving in your position. Wait, and watch what God does.

God has so many more amazing promises for you. But you’ll never know about them until you open the Bible and start reading

FOR A BREAKTHROUGH, FOCUS ON GOD

2 CHRONICLES 20:3

“Jehoshaphat was frightened and prayed to the LORD for guidance."

In a crisis, it’s natural to start explaining to God what’s going on and asking him for help. He wants you to talk to him and pour out your heart to him. But don’t start your prayer by telling God what you need. First, he wants you to focus on him.

When three enemy nations decided to team up against King Jehoshaphat and Israel, the king knew there was no way he could overcome those odds, and so he prayed. His prayer shows you how to start your prayers by focusing on God.

First, remind yourself of God’s greatness.

Jehoshaphat prayed, “O LORD God of our ancestors, you rule in heaven over all the nations of the world. You are powerful and mighty, and no one can oppose you” (2 Chronicles 20:6 GNT).

When you’re praying for something you can’t control, don’t focus on the problem. Focus on God’s greatness. The bigger God gets in your mind, the smaller the problem becomes.

Next, remind yourself of God’s unlimited power.

“When your people Israel moved into this land, you drove out the people who were living here and gave the land to the descendants of Abraham, your friend, to be theirs forever” (2 Chronicles 20:7 GNT).

When you realize that God has all the power in the world, you can just trust him. As you pray, think of all the ways God has helped you, other people, and people in the Bible.

Then, remind God of his promises.

Jehoshaphat reminded God he promised Israel that the land would be theirs forever. God has made promises to you too. In fact, there are thousands of promises for you in the Bible. When your kids remind you of the promises you’ve made to them, it can be frustrating. But God loves to have his Word quoted back to him.

Finally, ask God for a breakthrough.

Jehoshaphat said of the attacking forces, “Punish them, for we are helpless in the face of this large army that is attacking us. We do not know what to do, but we look to you for help” (2 Chronicles 20:12 GNT).

Don’t just ask God to bless your life. Focus on him and then tell him the specific thing you need for your breakthrough. Then you’ll see him provide as you pray like Jehoshaphat

THINK POSITIVELY

PHILIPPIANS 4:8

“Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise."

It’s increasingly difficult to stay focused on true things. The Bible says, “Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise” (Philippians 4:8 NLT).

This requires a mental shift. It means you’re going to have to build new, better habits.

Your mind is bombarded with lies every single day. Advertisements and social media tell you that if you don’t think, dress, or act a certain way, you don’t matter. When you’re growing up, you’re told that if you’re not good at academics or athletics, you don’t matter. This world is full of lies, and you’ve believed many of them. But they’re just not true.

The only way to counter those lies is to fill your mind with the truth. The truth is that you are a child of God. You matter to him. Jesus said that when you know the truth, it will set you free.

To be set free means to have a breakthrough. I want you to have a breakthrough. But the only way you can do that is to be in God’s Word, the Bible, every day, even if it’s just for a few minutes.

If you think you can’t do that, just consider how many hours you’re spending on social media or TV or reading the news. How are you going to have a healthy mind if you’re filling your mind with lies instead of the truth?

Not everything you hear is true. Not everything you tell yourself is true. You’ve got to get into the Bible every day, because God will always speak truth. You can trust what he says about you and the promises he’s made for you in his Word because he always keeps his promises.

What happens when you keep your mind on the right things?

“If you do this, you will experience God’s peace, which is far more wonderful than the human mind can understand. His peace will keep your thoughts and your hearts quiet and at rest as you trust in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:7 TLB).

Wouldn’t you like to have your heart and your mind at rest? That’s a breakthrough everyone needs: less stress and more rest. Get started on your breakthrough today by getting into God’s Word

GIVING THANKS IN ALL CIRCUMSTANCES

1 THESSALONIANS 5:18

“Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus."

No matter what you ask God for, you need to ask with an attitude of gratitude. You can ask God for whatever you need, but do it with a thankful heart for what he’s already done.

The Bible says, “Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus” (1 Thessalonians 5:18 NIV). A lot of people want to know what God’s will is for their lives. But God’s not going to show you step two until you do step one. Here’s step one: Be grateful. This is God’s will.

First be grateful for what God has already given you—your life, mind, freedom, food. Everything you have is a gift from God! Be grateful for all of it.

The Bible says to give thanks in all circumstances. Notice it does not say to give thanks for all circumstances. There is a big difference. There are a lot of things in life you should not be thankful for. You should never be thankful for evil, for example.

It says to give thanks in every circumstance, not for, because God can bring good even out of bad things. There is a lot of bad in the world, and these days, you may see more of it than you think you can bear. You shouldn’t be grateful for those things. God is bigger than sin. He can bring promises out of pain, blessings out of suffering. He turns crucifixions into resurrections.

God transforms the bad things in your life into good things and uses them for good. You can be grateful in everything for several reasons: God has a plan for your life. He can use everything in your life for good. The pain is not going to last forever. If you know Jesus as Savior, you’re going to heaven. And he’s going to use even the hard things in life to build your character.

Do you know what will help you be thankful in all things? When bad things happen, don’t ask, “Why is this happening to me?” Instead, ask, “God, what do you want me to learn from this?”

When you learn from God, then you grow more like Christ. Then you’ll be able to better see how he is working in your life and give him thanks in all circumstances.

PRAYER:

Lord I am grateful that your word is always true and fulfilling, thank you because you are aware of all that is happening in and around me, help me always be thankful, in Jesus Name I pray

AMEN

HOW TO PRAY ABOUT EVERYTHING

PHILIPPIANS 4:6

“Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done."

Yesterday we talked about using your left hand to help you remember who to pray for. Today we’ll look at your right hand and how it can help you know what to pray for.

Just like your left hand, your thumb is closest to your heart when you hold up your right hand. So the first thing you pray for is—that’s right—your heart. The Bible says to guard your heart, because it controls your life. Everything flows from the heart! Ask God to reveal any sin you need to confess so you can get your heart right with him.

In the United States, we usually use our index finger to signal the number one. Use that finger to remind you to pray for your priorities and schedule. Ask God to show you what’s most important so that you can make it a priority in your life. If you’re not praying about your schedule, God isn’t blessing your schedule.

Your tallest finger, the middle finger, is the one that stands out. It reminds you to pray for your influence. Pray that when people see you, they will see how God has worked in your life. Ask God to make you an example of his love. Ask him to give you greater influence so you can use it for good.

The ring finger reminds you to pray for your relationships. Be specific as you talk to God about your friends, spouse, children, colleagues, supervisors, ministry partners, and neighbors. Tell him how you want to see those relationships grow and heal and bring him glory.

Finally, your little finger is a reminder to pray for material blessings. There’s nothing wrong with asking God to bless your life materially—it’s just not the most important thing, so it’s the last thing you pray for. Remember, God says you have not because you ask not.

“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done” (Philippians 4:6 NLT).

Have you ever thought, “I can’t pray for five minutes straight”? Just use your hands! By the time you go through each of these steps, you easily will have spent five minutes talking with God.

Be intentional this week about practicing this method throughout each day. Soon you’ll build a habit of prayer that will serve you for the rest of your life.

PRAYER:

Abba Father, I need you to help me pray about everything and not to worry about them, help me develop a total confidence and dependence on you alone in Jesus Name

Amen

HOW TO USE YOUR HANDS TO PRAY

1 PETER 5:7

Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you."

There’s nothing too small to pray about. There’s nothing too big to pray about. Pray about everything.

There’s a simple way to remember how to pray using your hands. Psalm 88:9 says, “LORD, every day I call to you and lift my hands to you in prayer” (GNT).

The fingers on your left hand represent who to pray for, and the fingers on your right hand represent what to pray for. If you remember these steps, you can easily make a habit of praying throughout your day. Today we’ll talk about who to pray for, and tomorrow we’ll walk through what to pray for.

When you hold up your left hand, which finger is closest to your heart? Your thumb. The people closest to your heart are your family and friends. Your thumb reminds you to pray for them first.

The index finger is the one that points the way. It represents teachers and leaders in your life who point you toward Jesus and God’s will. Pray that they will help you and others make wise decisions and that they will be wise in their own lives as well.

Your tallest finger is the middle finger. Let it remind you to pray for people in authority and people who influence society. Pray for them to lead with integrity and influence others for good, not bad.

Your ring finger is pretty weak. It can help you remember to pray for people who tend to be more vulnerable, including the elderly, those suffering from illness, and people who do not have enough to eat. Pray for God to meet their needs and draw them closer to him.

The last finger, your pinky, represents you. It’s okay to pray for yourself! But don’t start there. Pray for yourself last, after you pray for everybody else.

This simple reminder can help you transform your prayer life. Try it, and watch how God grows you into a person of greater faith.

Remain blessed

HUMBLE CONFESSION

2 CHRONICLES 7:14

"If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land."

God doesn’t listen to prideful complaining, but he does listen to humble confessing.

God responds to humility. Many people hesitate to admit their sins because they think they’re going to get punished. But God already knows about all your sin! He knows every mistake you’ve made in your entire life. He just wants you to confess them. He wants you to show humility.

When you are humble before God, he doesn’t respond with punishment. He responds with forgiveness, mercy, and blessing. God’s not going to take you down—that’s what your pride does. When you humbly confess your sin, God is quick to forgive. He gives grace to the humble.

The Greek word for “confess” is homologeo. Homo means “same.” Logeo means “to speak.” To confess simply means to agree with God about your sin. You say to him, “You’re right. That was a sin. I don’t want to make excuses for it. You told me not to do it, but I did it anyway. It was wrong. It was rebellion against you.”

Daniel said, “We have sinned and done wrong,” but he didn’t just stop there: “We have been wicked and have rebelled; we have turned away from your commands and laws. We have not listened to your servants . . . Lord, you are righteous, but this day we are covered with shame” (Daniel 9:5-7 NIV).

Daniel got very specific with his confession, and you need to as well. Don’t lump all your sins from today together, as if you’re too busy to name them. God wants you to be specific, because he wants you to know what not to do again.

Knowing that the Israelites didn’t deserve God’s blessing, Daniel threw himself on the grace of God. When you humbly confess your sin to God, you are surrendering your will to his. You are acknowledging your weakness and asking for God’s mercy. God’s answer is always grace.

Remain blessed in the Lord.

PRAYER BEGINS WITH LISTENING

DANIEL 9:2

“During Darius’ first year as king, I, Daniel, was reading the Scriptures. I saw that the LORD told Jeremiah that Jerusalem would be empty ruins for seventy years."

Prayer doesn’t start with talking. It starts with listening.

For your prayers to be effective, first listen to God by reading his Word, the Bible. You need to let God talk to you so you know how to pray, what to pray, where to pray, and when to pray.

Daniel prayed effectively because he knew God’s Word. He had survived three different administrations in captivity and even gotten promoted within them. He was 85 years old and knew God had promised to bring the Israelites home after 70 years in Babylon. But he also knew that the Israelites had not turned back to God. Seventy years later, they were still as messed up as they ever were.

“During Darius’ first year as king, I, Daniel, was reading the Scriptures. I saw that the LORD told Jeremiah that Jerusalem would be empty ruins for seventy years” (Daniel 9:2 NCV).

Because he studied Scripture, Daniel knew what God had promised and what was required of Israel. Because of that, he could make wise decisions.

You will never pray effectively until, like Daniel, you study the Scriptures and learn from God’s Word—every single day. The more you know the Bible, the more prayers you’re going to have answered. You’ve got to read from God’s Word every single day so you can learn and remember the promises that God has made to you.

Don’t go to bed without spending some time, however long it is, listening to God by reading the Bible and then talking to him. Daniel did this three times a day for more than 70 years! It was a daily habit for him.

Do you think your life would be any different if you had a conversation with God three times a day for your whole life? It’s no wonder Daniel avoided problems, became wise, and kept getting promoted.

Developing a habit of daily Bible study and prayer will revolutionize your life. It will make you mentally, emotionally, and spiritually stronger. You will be more confident, less fearful, and less stressed. It will improve every single area of your life.

Make it a point today to start a healthy discipline of Bible study and prayer so that you can listen to God and talk to him.

PRAYER:

Abba Father, help me to be a listener, listening to you daily in Jesus Name

AMEN
