Fun Fact Friday! First Lutheran Church has an important connection to the Cincinnati Zoo. Andrew Erkenbrecher founded the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Gardens in 1873. He was also a member of First Lutheran Church.

We are thrilled to announce FLC's new music team: Anna Lavin (Keyboardist) and Addy Kruse (Cantor)! Welcome Anna and Addy! They will begin together in mid September.

Anna Lavin (Keyboardist) is a pianist and piano teacher with a Bachelor's of Arts in Music from The Ohio State University. Her life's passion is finding ways to build community through music, and is ecstatic to have the opportunity to do so at First Lutheran Church. Anna grew up as a Lutheran in West Chester, Ohio, and is part of the Gather young adult Christian group. She now lives in Mount Lookout, where she runs Constellation Music Studio. In her free time, Anna loves geocaching, spending time outdoors, and cheering on the Buckeyes!

Addy Kruse (Cantor) is a singer, a lifelong Lutheran and a certified "church nerd." She loves planning worships that blend classic hymns with creative, new ideas. She's originally from Springfield, Ohio and is the daughter of two Lutheran pastors. By day, she's a high school science teacher for English Language Learners from all over the world. After school, she's a co-organizer of the local Christian young adults group, Gather Cincinnati, a member of the community choir Cincinnati Camerata, a school advisor for Adventure Crew, and an avid rock climber.

FLC is collecting individually wrapped sweet and salty snacks for Our Daily Bread. Please bring your contributions to the church on any Sunday from now until September 13th! Ideas include donuts, muffins, Little Debbies, cookies, brownies, pretzels, chips, peanut butter cheese crackers, nuts, trail mix, and beef jerky.

Fun Fact Friday! The inaugural worship service of what would become First Lutheran Church was held on the second floor of a firehouse located at Vine and Canal on December 8, 1841. Kroger's headquarters now stands at the site.
