Happy Labor Day from St. Barnabas!

Today we give thanks for all who work to create, teach, build, care, serve, and strengthen our communities. May this day offer a chance to rest, reconnect, and give thanks for the gifts we share through our work.

🎨 Slow down. Create. Reflect.

Join artist Shelly R. for a four-week journey into Meditative Painting—a gentle practice that blends creativity, mindfulness, and spiritual reflection. No artistic experience is needed! Come as you are and discover how painting can become a way to slow down, be present, and connect more deeply.

📅 Mondays, September 14–October 5, 11 a.m.–12 p.m. in the Undercroft

What happens when we slow down and really look?

This past Monday, our Life of Prayer group gathered with parishioner and author Kendra Lacy for Find Something Beautiful, exploring contemplative photography as a way to notice beauty and God’s presence in the world around us.

We loved slowing down, looking with new eyes, and sharing the experience together.

Join us for the final session this Monday as we continue practicing the art of noticing. Bring your phone or camera and an open heart!

How can we communicate more effectively and create more meaningful connections? đź’™

Join us for a six-week study of The Gift of Empathy, an award-winning book from Stephen Ministries. Together, we’ll explore what empathy is—and isn’t—and learn practical ways to better understand, connect with, and respond to the people in our lives, from family and friends to coworkers, neighbors, and even strangers.

Wednesdays, September 16–October 21, 6:30–8 p.m. in the Great Hall

A few weeks ago, we gathered for our annual Blessing of the Backpacks, sending our students, teachers, and families into the new school year with prayers for joy, growth, and learning. We’re grateful for this special St. B tradition and the chance to begin the year together!

This past Saturday, our Prayer Shawl Ministry gathered for an afternoon of creativity, conversation, and community. From knitting and crocheting to other fiber arts, our group spent time working on projects and enjoying the gift of being together.

All fiber artists—knitters, crocheters, quilters, stitchers, weavers, and beginners—are invited to join us at our next gathering on Saturday, October 31 at 10 a.m. in the Great Hall. Bring a project and come enjoy some fellowship and inspiration!
