Missio Dei Church We are a community of believers located in the urban core of Cincinnati, joining Jesus in His mission to redeem the people in our city.

Missio Dei Church exists because we believe that God is on mission by the power of His Spirit, to rescue and redeem His people, transforming us into the image of His Son, so that culture begins to take on the image of His Kingdom. Missio Dei Church believes the advance of God’s Kingdom comes not through new ways of doing church, but through the ancient way of faithful preaching and contextualizing

of the unchanging Gospel for a changing culture. Our desire is to see the people of Cincinnati forever changed by the Gospel of Jesus and holding dear to Him as their source of all joy and worth. Join us on Sundays at 9:00am and 11:00 am

In Luke 23, we meet seven different people who all encountered Jesus at the cross: soldiers, mourners, criminals, followers. Each one stood in proximity to him. Only one received the promise of his presence: a dying criminal with no good works, no second chances, and no excuses.

He simply cried out: "Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom." And Jesus answered him with the most powerful promise imaginable: "Today you will be with me in paradise."

That is the heart of the Gospel. Jesus saves broken people who cannot save themselves because he refused to save himself.

What would it look like to be a community where broken people do not have to hide? Where the first thing people experience is grace? Join us as we explore what it means to carry that kind of faith into the world.

Happy 5th Sunday! 💛 We loved the opportunity to worship alongside our kids and reflect on what it means to be storytellers.

We can read the story of the Gospel in Scripture, but we can also see the Gospel woven into our own stories.

How has the Gospel impacted your story? Where have you seen God show up? And how might you invite those around you into the story of the Gospel?

As a new school year begins, we’re praying for our students, parents, teachers, and families—that God would be present in every new beginning and that we would faithfully share His story wherever He has placed us. 📚✨

Knowing the truth is not enough. Pilate said four times that Jesus was innocent, yet still handed him over. Why? Because conviction without courage is just knowledge that costs us nothing.

In Luke 23, we see ourselves in Pilate, in Herod, in the crowd. We show up to observe, to be served, to avoid discomfort. Life-giving faith demands more than right beliefs. It demands the courage to act on them, even when the crowd is loud and the pressure is real.

The good news is that Jesus, the only truly innocent one in the story, took the place of the guilty. That exchange is the foundation of our courage. We no longer have to pacify the crowd.

How can we know the truth this week, asking curious questions to clear away our assumptions? How can we confess the truth convictional, compassionately, and confidently? And how can we act on the truth, responding instead of reacting, seeking long-term solutions instead of quick fixes, and taking responsibility instead of assigning blame?

In Luke 22, we find Jesus in the garden, sweating drops of blood, praying through the most anguishing moment in human history. He saw what the cup would cost him, and he said yes anyway, not for his own sake, but for ours.

When the unknowns of life press in, we are tempted to respond with despair, denial, or disdain. But Jesus modeled something different: honest prayer, humble surrender, and unshakable trust in the Father's will.

There is nothing you can bring to God that he cannot handle.

What happens to my relationship with God when he isn’t giving me the things I think I need to be happy? When have I complained to God that I have it worse than anyone else? What is my biggest fear? How do I respond to the unknown in my life? How can I become more like Jesus in my reliance on the Father?

We can trust God in the unknowns. That is the good news.
