Meet Ira Kohler

At 21, New York native Ira Kohler moved to Israel and served as a Lone Soldier in the IDF Paratroopers.

On October 7, Ira fought in Kibbutz Be’eri and went on to spend more than 100 days inside the Gaza Strip. After completing his service, he began sharing his experiences publicly and wrote Once a Paratrooper, a memoir about his journey, military service, and experiences during the war.

Ira will be joining us at Adath Israel next week to share his story and speak about the experiences behind his book.

Thursday, October 15 | 7:30 PM
Adath Israel Congregation - Marcus Chapel

Copies of Once a Paratrooper will be available for purchase following the program.

Dances for Universal Peace

Adath Israel Congregation - Lerner.Fisher Hall

We’ll begin with a community lunch at noon, followed by two programs starting at 12:30 PM.

Adults are invited to experience Dances for Universal Peace with NurAna Naomi Wilansky and musician Hakam Dan Liechty. Through chant, live music, and simple circle movements, participants will share in a joyful experience of unity, peace, and connection. This special session will focus on Jewish prayers.

Kids can head to the Parshat Noach Youth Program for Noah’s Ark mini games, interactive challenges, a special side quest, and time to hang out in the Youth Lounge.

All are welcome. No experience necessary!
