The Episcopal Diocese of Southern Ohio gives thanks for the life and ministry of our ninth bishop diocesan, the Rt. Rev. Thomas E. Breidenthal. Bishop Breidenthal died yesterday evening surrounded by his family. He was 75.

Bishop White shares, “Tom Breidenthal’s ministry in this diocese was marked by wisdom and theological commitment. He challenged people throughout the diocese to think more deeply, to love more fully, and to follow Christ more faithfully—a witness to the transformational power of life in Jesus Christ. I am deeply grateful for his life and witness and for the care he shared with me, personally. I join with people across this diocese and the wider Church in commending him to God’s eternal care.”

Wishing a happy and blessed Mother's Day to all of the incredible moms around the world!

Almighty God, we ask Your blessing on each mother today and every day. Fill their hearts with laughter and joy. Surround them with love from family and friends. Grant them health, peace, and fulfillment as they pursue their calling. Let them know their value and worth in Your eyes, and ours. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Today, we observe Red Dress Day, held annually on May 5th, which is a national day of awareness and remembrance for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirit People (MMIWG2S+).

It serves to honor victims, support families, and call for justice regarding the disproportionate rates of violence against Indigenous people, often marked by hanging red dresses in public spaces, wearing red, and holding vigils.

Our Women's Retreat is underway! The Rev. Canon Lisa Senuta from the Diocese of Kansas is guiding this meaningful one-day experience, using Brené Brown’s guideposts to invite reflection on what it means to show up to our lives with a whole heart. Together, we’ll explore the courage it takes for a “reckoning and a rumble”—letting go of perfectionism, releasing anxiety, and shedding the expectations of others so we can embrace the abundant life and joy found in the path of Jesus Christ.

We are so grateful for these wonderful women who have joined us today at Taft Museum of Art

Sights and sounds as our Holy Week journey together continues through the sacred story of love, sacrifice, and redemption.

Wednesday night’s Contemplative Stations of the Cross featured a concert of meditative music for Keyboard and Tabla drums.

Maundy Thursday’s Liturgy with Foot-washing commemorates the Last Supper, the institution of the Eucharist, and Jesus washing the disciples' feet.

And today, as we gathered at the foot of the cross and reflected on the depth of God’s love during Good Friday Liturgy with Veneration of the Cross and Choral Evensong services.
