Zion's New Member Class - 101
Starts this Sunday!!
Sundays 9:45-10:45 AM

A new class will meet starting September 13, in rooms 1,2,3 (lower level by Julia's office). This is a time to get to know the newer folks at church, to brush off (or learn) some Lutheran understandings, and to get to know Pastor Jason better (and me to know you!). I try to make it fun and yet challenging.

Any questions? Contact: Pastor Jason (PJ) [email protected]

--Zion's Fall Sermon series--
The Book of Numbers: Hope in the Wilderness
Starting Sunday September 13th!

What do you do in the "in-between times"? Do you chomp at the bit? Yell, "Something has to change." Exclaim, "I don't have time for this." When you live between your past and our glorious future (by faith) - how do you deal with life's dailiness, it’s boring times, its challenging times, its joys? When you're straddling the salvation accomplished by God and the salvation to come - how does that make its way into your life? Do you miss things going on around you? Do you numb yourself until you get through somehow? Do you grind it out? Do you hope something will whisk you away?

In Numbers there's a better way. Moses actually shows us. It's to trust in the mercy and might of God - to trust ultimately in Jesus - even when we're stuck in life's wilderness.

Resources on the Information Table (Reading list, reading journal, Books by Reed Lessing (his book is our inspiration). Solo Dei Gloria!

--Fall Adult Bible Study--
The Book of Daniel

Join us for seven weeks, One chapter for each week, studying the stories in the first seven chapters of Daniel, where Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego are captives in the land of Babylonia.

Their faith is challenged by a hostile nation, but they stand firm for the truth of the God of Israel and remind us of many things we first learned as small children--Daniel in the lions' den; Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in the fiery furnace; the handwriting on the wall; and some less familiar, but still challenging, stories.

This Bible Study will be Led by Rev. Dr. Joel Heck!
