Lord, please bless our students during this time of rest away from their academic work. May they enjoy a happy, safe, and healthy summer with their families and friends!

Congratulations to 2026 Bill Grimme Award Recipients Ryan S. and Kelsey H.!

Mr. Bill Grimme was a parishioner of St. Ignatius and taught Confirmation preparation from 1989 to 2007. He was also very involved in many other ministries at our parish. He attended daily Mass, loved to pray the Rosary, and was passionate about his Catholic Faith.

In loving memory of his devotion to God, and in his spirit of teaching students about becoming closer to Christ, the Bill Grimme Spirit Award was established. The recipients of this award are students that embraced the Confirmation preparation and clearly demonstrated not only the knowledge of Catholic Church teachings, but a desire to live out their Catholic Faith as disciples of Christ.

Congratulations to seventh-grade students of the parish Ryan S. and Kelsey H. who were chosen to receive this wonderful award. Ryan and Kelsey went above and beyond in service to others and both strive to live a life of virtue and grow in their relationship with Christ.

Tomorrow is the big day for Deacon Benj and eight other men joining the Sacred Order of the Priesthood here in the Archdiocese of Cincinnati! Following his ordination, Fr. Klare will then celebrate his First Mass of Thanksgiving at St. Ignatius at 4:30. Pray for these nine men entering the priesthood, and for everyone discerning religious vocations!

Join the Archdiocese of Cincinnati in a 9-day novena for the nine men who will be ordained to the priesthood on Saturday, May 16. Each day, we’ll pray through the intercession of St. John Vianney, patron saint of parish priests. 🙏 Today we are praying for Deacon Benjamin Klare! Deacon Benj is the third of seven children, his mom is one of ten, and his dad is one of seven. Big family parties and cousins coming over to play were staples in his childhood. Growing up in this big family instilled an enduring love for family life. An extrovert, he loves time with others but also took up the hobby of bookbinding under the patronage of his internship parish- St. Columbkille, whose saint is the patron of bookbinders.

God our Father, through the intercession of St. John Vianney, patron saint of parish priests, we ask for Your abundant graces poured upon Deacon Benj Klare whom you have called to the service of the people of God and chosen for the priesthood of Jesus Christ. May he faithfully exercise the sacred duty of teaching in the name of Christ the Teacher. Amen.
