Marriage Monday
Have I loved you enough today?
-Fr Richard Carton

Today and Every Day
Reflection: Parish priests are on the front line in meeting with couples who wish to get married in the Church. The question posed is a rich question because it begs for an honest answer. It is a generous question because it calls us to stretch a little further.
Go ahead, ask your spouse: Have I loved you enough today? After all, love endures forever.

Prayer: Father, each day may we be able to answer "Yes" to our spouse.
Amen

"Peace I bequeath to you, my own peace I give you, a peace the world cannot give, this is my gift to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled or afraid." We are not alone or without help in the life that we have embraced. The Church strengthens our faith and feeds our souls "with the pure milk of her teaching, with the bread of the Eucharist; she makes us witnesses of Christ's resurrection and of the victory which He won over the forces of evil."

This joy of mine is complete. He must increase; I must decrease.
-Jn 3:29-30

Reflection: In this passage, John the Baptist describes his joy at Jesus' presence. John is fulfilled. He has prepared the world for Jesus and helped Him start His work.
John's joyful willingness to let himself fade into the background shows us that we must put aside our egos to love and follow Jesus.

Prayer: Jesus, let my ego decrease, so that I can let Your presence in my life increase.
Amen

The love of God is reflected in the soul of the just, as the light of the sun is magnified by a mirror. So Mary’s Son is the Sun; for she is the moon.

Always Remember Your Final Destination
Reflection: Faith is having one foot on the ground and the other one in heaven.
God is your invisible companion through life. He is leading you to eternal joy.

Prayer: Help me, Lord, to remember that I belong to You.
Amen

Marriage Monday
Appreciate each new day together. Take nothing for granted. Say I love you every time you leave the house.

Good News Bears All
Reflection: "Another day, another dollar." "Same old same old." Every once in a while, we are jarred out of our complacent lifestyle when disaster strikes, and our world gets turned upside down.
It's good to re-evaluate just who and what are important to us so we never take each other of life for granted. After reading this, turn to your spouse and say, "I love you."

Prayer: Loving Lord, we appreciate each other and together we thank You for everything.
Amen

Marriage Monday
See what love the Father has bestowed on us that we may be called the children of God.
-1Jn 3:1

The Apple of His Eye
Reflection: One of the most reaffirming images of God is that of Father. It's an image used by the authors of the Old Testament in describing how God functions and is used by Jesus Himself.
The love of God the Father is the model for all fathers to aspire to. In meditating on the Scriptures, we can grow more closely into the father God calls men to be.

Prayer: Holy Spirit, guide us in the vocation of fatherhood that we may imitate God.
Amen

Marriage Monday

The Sacrament of Marriage is so central to God’s love for us that He Himself chose to be born and grow up in a family, entering into human history with a mother and foster father. In a culture where prestige means everything, our Father in heaven shows us in the simple lives of a housewife and carpenter the divine connection between the human family and the family of God in the Trinity.
