Apostle Paul asked some disciples of John the Baptist in Ephesus, "Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.
Acts 19:2 KJV"
This is a very important question for all believers.
Jesus said, "If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.
John 7:37-38 KJV"
Apostle John who walked with Jesus tells us exactly what he meant, "(But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)
John 7:39 KJV"
Now that Jesus has been glorified, starting with His disciples in the upper room in Acts 2 believers have been receiving the Holy Ghost.
This includes those same disciples that Paul asked that wonderful question to.
Now let's read what happened next.
And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John's baptism. Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus. When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied. And all the men were about twelve.
Acts 19:3-7 KJV
Have you had this experience of receiving the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in tongues?
According to the Scriptures every believer should desire, seek after, anticipate and expect to receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
