The history of Saint George Church has been full of miracles: From overcoming obstacles in its early days, to recovering from a tragic fire. But on April 22nd of 1994, the parishioners of Saint George Church witnessed God’s glory as He restored and strengthened our faith: The Icon of the Theotokos on the Church’s iconostasis began to shed tears. Dear Saint George Church Family,

Christ is Risen! Indeed, He is Risen!

Saint George Antiochian Orthodox Church of Cicero, Illinois, is saddened to inform you of the falling asleep of the servant of God, +Adel Ibrahim Mufarreh, husband of Nuha Mufarreh, at the age of 79.

The Clergy and Parish Council of Saint George Church offer their sincerest condolences to the Mufarreh family. +Adel was the father of three children, Abear, Amal (Tawasha), and Kathy (Shunnarah), grandfather to two, brother to twelve siblings, uncle and friend to many. May Christ, who is our life and resurrection, grant rest to the servant of God, +Adel, with all the Saints and may He grant comfort to the family.

The following arrangements have been confirmed:
Wednesday, September 2, 2026 - The Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. followed by the Funeral Service at 10:30 a.m. at Saint George Church, immediately followed by the Burial Service. A Mercy Meal will follow.

What a beautiful and memorable evening! Our hearts are so full after sharing delicious food, laughter, and special moments together as Antiochian Women.

One of the sweetest parts of the night was hearing everyone share their favorite memories at Saint George, a beautiful reminder of the faith, friendship, and love that have brought us together over the years.
